  • Patent number: 6222066
Abstract: A process for the purification of organic isocyanates or isocyanate mixtures in which the amount of chlorine compound(s) present is reduced by mixing the isocyanate(s) or isocyanate mixtures with a gel-type or macroporous, anion-exchanging organic material having tertiary and/or quaternary amino groups. The process renders possible a purification of the isocyanates from chlorine-containing compounds which is milder than in conventional processes and is therefore particularly suitable for temperature-sensitive isocyanates.

  • Patent number: 5294665
Abstract: The present invention relates to a polyisocyanate mixture which has blocked isocyanate groups and an average NCO-functionality, based on reversibly blocked isocyanate groups, of 2.0 to 2.6, and is the reaction product, converted into the salt form by the at least partial neutralization of the incorporated carboxyl groups, ofi) at least one organic diisocyanate having a molecular weight of 168 to 300 withii) at least one monofunctional blocking agent for isocyanate groups, iii) at least one monobasic or dibasic hydroxycarboxylic acid,iv) 1 to 15 wt. %, based on the weight of component i), of at least one dihydric to hexahydric alcohol having a molecular weight of 62 to 182 andv) 50 to 500 wt. %, based on the weight of component i), of at least one diol having a molecular weight of 350 to 950 and containing ester groups.
