  • Patent number: 8392085
Abstract: A motor vehicle includes an electrohydraulic brake system with driving dynamics control, a master brake cylinder (1), wheel brakes (75-78), and at least one pressure fluid supply device (94, 95) actuated by an electronic control unit. The pressure can be applied to the wheel brakes (75, 76, 77, 78) of the vehicle which are also connectable to the master brake cylinder (1) by way of a closable hydraulic connection (73, 74). A device for detecting a brake application includes a magnet (35) as a signal transmitter and a sensor element (36). The sensor element (36), upon piston movement of the master cylinder (1), senses a change in the magnetic field and outputs a digital signal and an analog signal. The two signals are passed on to an electronic control unit and are evaluated in the electronic control unit.

Abstract: A motor vehicle includes an electrohydraulic brake system with driving dynamics control, a master brake cylinder (1) operable by means of a brake pedal (43), at least one pressure fluid supply device (94, 95) which can be actuated by an electronic control unit and the pressure of which can be applied to wheel brakes (75, 76, 77, 78) of the vehicle which are connectable to the master brake cylinder (1), on the other hand, by way of at least one hydraulic connection (73, 74) that is closable by means of a separating valve (80, 81), each one inlet valve (82, 83, 84, 85) and one outlet valve (86, 87, 88, 89) connected upstream of the wheel brakes (75, 76, 77, 78), as well as with a device for detecting brake application which comprises a magnet (35) as a signal transmitter and a sensor element (36).

  • Patent number: 7152406
Abstract: The invention relates to a master cylinder with a pressure chamber formed in a housing of the master cylinder and a reservoir bore for accommodating a pressure fluid reservoir, a valve with a closing element being provided which due to a pressure difference prevailing between the pressure chamber and the pressure fluid reservoir can be moved into an opening position or a closing position, the valve in its opening position allowing a pressure fluid flow from the pressure fluid reservoir into the pressure chamber and throttling or preventing, in its closing position, a pressure fluid flow from the pressure chamber into the pressure fluid reservoir. Means are provided which maintain the closing body in its opening position when it is acted upon by a closing pressure difference during vacuum filling of the brake system.

  • Publication number: 20050269180
Abstract: The invention relates to a master cylinder, in particular for a hydraulic brake system, with at least one pressure chamber formed in a housing of the master cylinder and at least one reservoir bore for accommodating a pressure fluid reservoir, a valve with a closing element being provided which due to a pressure difference prevailing between the pressure chamber and the pressure fluid reservoir can be moved into an opening position or a closing position, the valve in its opening position allowing a pressure fluid flow from the pressure fluid reservoir into the pressure chamber and throttling or preventing, in its closing position, a pressure fluid flow in the opposite direction to the pressure fluid flow from the pressure chamber into the pressure fluid reservoir.

  • Patent number: 6886333
Abstract: The present invention relates to a position indicator for displaying the position of a piston within a cylinder as part of a piston-and-cylinder assembly in a brake system. The provision of a Hall element for a hydraulic generating cylinder is known in the art, with the Hall sensor mounted on the cylinder and a ring magnet mounted on the piston. An object of the invention is to describe a position indicator for a brake system, which has a simple construction and is able to provide signals relating to the position of the brake pedal relatively rapidly. This object is achieved because a Hall element of a Hall sensor is placed in the cylinder wall of the master cylinder, and because a magnetic zone is arranged in the piston-and-cylinder assembly so that the Hall element responds to the piston movement within the cylinder.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a position indicator for displaying the position of a piston (3) within a cylinder (1) as part of a piston-and-cylinder assembly (1, 3) in a brake system. This object is achieved because a Hall element of a Hall sensor (12) is placed in the cylinder wall (1) of the master cylinder, and because a magnetic zone (9) is arranged in the piston-and-cylinder assembly so that the Hall element responds to the piston movement within the cylinder.
