  • Publication number: 20240123421
Abstract: A reactor for carrying out a chemical reaction using multiphase alternating current, includes a reactor chamber surrounded by thermally insulating reactor walls and multiple substantially straight reaction tubes. The reaction tubes run between at least one tube inlet opening and at least one tube outlet opening in opposite reactor walls and consist of a material that permits electrical resistance heating. Two electrically conductive bridges spaced apart along the reaction tubes are provided, each of which electrically conductively connects the reaction tubes to one another. Electrically conductive power input arrangements are provided extending through one or more input openings in one of the reactor walls. Each reaction tube is electrically conductively connected to one of the power input arrangements. Each power input arrangement is electrically conductively connected between the bridges to one of the reaction tubes and is connected or connectable to one of the phases of the alternating current.

  • Publication number: 20170101312
Abstract: A furnace and method for steam reforming of a hydrocarbon-containing feed stream, which particularly comprises methane, with: a combustion chamber, at least one reactor tube, which in portions extends in the combustion chamber and is designed for receiving a catalyst and for passing the feed stream through, and at least one burner, which is designed to burn a fuel in the combustion chamber for heating the at least one reactor tube is disclosed. It is provided that the at least one reactor tube has a portion of tube running above and outside the combustion chamber, an inductor which is designed for inductively heating the portion of tube being arranged on the portion of tube.

  • Publication number: 20120304859
Abstract: The invention relates to a process and a device for carrying out a gas scrubbing, in which gas is conducted from bottom to top and scrubbing medium is conducted from top to bottom through a scrubbing column (T). In the scrubbing column (T) at least two scrubbing sections (WS1 and WS2) are arranged one above the other, of which the upper is restricted downwards by a chimney tray (K). From the chimney tray (K) at least some of the scrubbing medium loaded in the upper scrubbing section (WS2) is taken off at a take-off point (A) provided in the region of the chimney tray (K) and introduced as scrubbing medium into the lower scrubbing section (WS1) at an introduction point (E) provided in the region of the lower scrubbing section (WS1). A heat-exchange appliance (6) is connected in series in the direction of flow downstream of the take-off point (A) and upstream of the introduction point (E).

  • Publication number: 20120256331
Abstract: The invention relates to a column (1) with carrying devices for column internals, the carrying devices having load introducing elements, for example formed as peripheral carrying rings (3) or carrying brackets, which are fastened to the inner wall of the column, and transverse carriers (4), which are supported from below by the load introducing elements and are intended for carrying the column internals. In order to minimize the size of the transverse carriers (4), vertical supporting carriers (5), which support the transverse carriers (4), are provided inside the column (1).

  • Publication number: 20120031269
Abstract: A method and a device for purifying a carbon-dioxide-containing gas stream are described, in which the gas stream is first subjected in a lower section (3) of an absorption column (1) to a prescrubbing for conditioning the gas stream and subsequently in an upper section (8) of the absorption column (1) the carbon dioxide is scrubbed out from the gas stream at least in part with a scrubbing liquid. For improving the construction of the absorption column it is proposed that the entire scrubbing liquid loaded with the carbon dioxide which is scrubbed out is taken off from the absorption column (1) and fed to a receiver tank (11) arranged outside the absorption column (1) and subsequently applied to a scrubbing liquid pump (12) which pumps the scrubbing liquid to a scrubbing medium regeneration stage.
