  • Patent number: 4479626
Abstract: A vehicle seat, the seat portion of which has an adjustable inclination, is supported on two concave guide rails (as viewed from the seat portion) which are supported by a seat frame and extend in the longitudinal direction of the seat portion so that the seat portion is longitudinally adjustable and can be locked in a selected position by means of a locking device. The locking device is arranged in the central section of the seat portion and includes a straight bar extending in the longitudinal direction of the seat portion. The ends of the bar are connected with the seat frame. This bar supports an adjusting member which can be adjusted steplessly in its longitudinal direction and can be secured in any position against a longitudinal movement. A coupling member is coupled with this adjusting member and is connected on its other end with the seat portion which is longitudinally adjustable on the guide rails.

  • Patent number: 4309015
Abstract: The vertical position adjuster for motor vehicle seats includes two pairs of adjusting gear units, each pair being driven by a separate motor and each unit including an input screw mechanism having its nut connected to a tooth rack which meshes with a gear segment rigidly connected to one arm of a swing support in the form of a bell crank. The apex of each bell crank is hinged to the housing of the gear unit and the other arm of the bell crank is hinged to the seat frame.

  • Patent number: 4195884
Abstract: The hinge for a reclinable backrest of a motor vehicle seat includes two symmetrically bifurcated hinge parts. The first hinge part is connected to an external gear annulus and the second hinge part to an internal gear annulus engaging a part of the teeth of the external gear annulus. An eccentric bolt is rotatable about a pivot axis and has an eccentric control zone supported for rotation in the center bore of the external gear annulus and in the corresponding bores of the first hinge part. The second hinge portion is supported for rotation on the zones of the bolt which are concentric with the pivot axis.

  • Patent number: 4154422
Abstract: A motor-vehicle seat is carried on at least one slide displaceable along a guide rail having an upper edge formed with a plurality of upwardly open notches. Inside this guide rail is an adjustment member which is vertically displaceable so as frictionally to engage the guide rail and arrest the slide relative to the seat. Furthermore a safety member is provided which is also carried on the slide and which is displaceable toward and away from the notches formed in the upper edge of the guide rail. Respective springs urge the adjustment and safety members into the positions locking the slide and rail relative to each other. A common handle is actuatable to pull the adjustment member out of engagement with the rail and to pull the safety member also out of engagement with the notches of the rail. Thus in case of a collision even if the frictional engagement of the adjustment member with the rail is insufficient to lock the seat in position, the engagement of the safety member with the notches will suffice.
