Abstract: An umbrella-type laundry drying rack is provided which has a vertical support and load-bearing arms for clothes lines. The load-bearing arms are disposed pivotably on the support about respective pivot pins, and are pivotable between a first position close to the support and a second position remote from the support. The load-bearing arms are coupled to one another such that upon pivoting of one of the load-bearing arms, the remaining load-bearing arms are jointly pivoted in the same way. At least one of the load-bearing arms has a deflection mechanism for deflecting the at least one load-bearing arm outward from the first position upon exertion of a force oriented away from the support to another one of the load-bearing arms.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the measurement of the molar mass of a gas or gas mixture and an apparatus for the performance of the method. The gas or gas mixture to be investigated is passed through at least one holder, on which at least one sonic or ultrasonic transmit-receive cell is arranged defining a baseline and preferably arranged obliquely to the axis of the tube. The sonic or ultrasonic transmit-receive elements radiate a pulsed sonic signal, which measures the transit times of the sonic pulses along the baseline. Using a temperature probe for instance the variations in gas temperature along the at least one sonic transmission path is determined. From the transit time of the sonic pulses and the measured or assumed temperature the molar mass is found. The apparatus in accordance with the invention may be employed with advantage in pulmonary function diagnostics.

Abstract: In order to simplify manufacture of the interior electrode of a polarographic electrode with an electrically insulating shell containing a wire lead and carrying a reactive surface at its front end, which surface is formed by the free cross-sectional areas of wires arranged in the shell and in electrical contact with the wire lead, the wires and the site where they are connected to the wire lead are embedded in a plastic compound filling the front end of the shell.

Abstract: An airing and drying frame with an upright mast on which a multiple-armed extending frame is fitted for accommodating individual rope polygons, the corner points of the rope polygons being attached to mutually movable slides which are mounted slidably in guideways of the arms, and wherein an actuating element for withdrawing the washing line is articulated to the outermost slide in each case.

Abstract: A floor-sweeping machine consisting of a housing with a revolving brush which is mounted rotatably therein and is driven by means of running wheels and which is located between two dirt-collecting spaces, the two dirt-collecting spaces being formed by dirt-collecting containers which can be taken out of the housing upwards, and the dirt-collecting container having a resilient locking device which secures it in its operating position and which can be transferred by hand into its release position, and in which, to make it substantially easier to operate and especially to take out and empty the dirt-collecting containers, the two dirt-collecting containers 24, 25 are connected to one another and have a common top side 27 in which, approximately centrally, there is a part 35 which is to be grasped by the operator and is to be moved to a limited extent in the lifting-out direction and which, when moved in the lifting-out direction, transfers the resilient locking device 36 into the release position.

Abstract: Floor-sweeping machine consisting of a housing with a revolving brush which is mounted rotatably therein and which can be driven by means of running wheels projecting from the under side of the housing, and in which, for the purpose of rapid assembly and removal, the revolving brush 14 is mounted rotatably by means of two bearing clasps 19 which engage on its ends and which each have a bearing receptacle 24 for the associated bearing end of the revolving brush 14, and the bearing clasps 19 are themselves retained by securely positioned clamping onto housing parts 23.
