  • Patent number: 5591888
Abstract: To produce tert-butyl chloroacetate by addition of chloroacetic acid to isobutene, the reaction is carried out in the absence of catalysts and solvents in a pressure vessel at a temperature of 80.degree. to 110.degree. C. under the pressure which establishes itself of 3 to 12 bar over a period of 1 to 12 hours. After the pressure vessel is cooled, the cooled product mixture is withdrawn and it is worked up by distillation under reduced pressure without prior neutralization.

  • Patent number: 4923691
Abstract: An aluminum nitride powder has a crystallite size of 40 to 150 nm, measured by powder diffractometry and evaluated by the method of Scherrer, a primary particle size of 0.1 to 0.5 .mu.m, a specific surface according to BET of 5 to 50 m.sup.2 /g and a degree of whiteness of more than 91%, measured using light of a 400 to 700 nm wavelength against barium sulfate analytical reagent as standard of whitness. To prepare this aluminum nitride powder, metallic aluminum and monoamminealuminum chloride [AlCl.sub.3 (NH.sub.3)] are first molten together in an inert gas atmosphere at temperatures above 125.degree. C. and allowed to react with one another with evolution of hydrogen. 8 to 20 g of ammonia are then introduced per hour per mol of monoamminealuminum chloride into the aluminum-containing monoamminealuminum chloride melt at temperatures between 250.degree. and 400.degree. C., aluminum nitride being precipitated as a solid until the conversion of the aluminum is complete.

  • Patent number: 4921688
Abstract: A process for preparing ammine salts of aluminum iodide by reaction of aluminum, an iodine compound and ammonia is reported in which the reactants are reacted without mercury as a catalyst in the liquid ammonia phase at a temperature from 20.degree. to 600.degree. C. and a pressure from 8 to 2,000 bar and excess ammonia is evaporated off after the reaction is completed. The process makes possible the preparation of hexamminealuminum iodide monoammoniate, hexamminealuminum iodide and pentamminealuminum iodide.

  • Patent number: 4882136
Abstract: A process is given for the production of transparent aluminum nitride films in which the aluminum nitride films comprise a nomocrystal and are obtained by evaporation of ammine salts of aluminum iodide in an evaporation zone and subsequent ammonolysis in a decomposition zone at 380.degree. to 550.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 4880612
Abstract: Crystalline hexaamminealuminum iodide monoammoniate is characterized by certain X-ray diffraction lines (CuK.alpha.) of the 15 strongest lines in order of decreasing intensity. Single crystals of hexaamminealuminum iodide monoammoniate crystallize in the space group Pmn2.sub.1 with the lattice constantsa=7.600 [.ANG.]b=13.315 [.ANG.]c=15.051 [.ANG.].alpha.=.beta.=.gamma.=90.degree. and have certain atomic coordinates.Furthermore, processes for the preparation of hexaamminealuminum iodide monoammoniate by reacting aluminum, an iodine compound and ammonia or aluminum iodide and liquid ammonia are described.

  • Patent number: 4738429
Abstract: The invention concerns a manually operated control valve on a pneumatically or hydraulically operated equipment which has a control shaft positioned substantially in a horizontally oriented direction. By turning the control shaft to and fro against an increasing resistance the attached motor of the equipment will turn in one direction or in the other direction. The control shaft is provided with a hose or a piece of hose together with an extension in the shape of a tube or the like, and the hose serves as a universal joint which retains its operating properties independently of any bending of the hose due to position changes of the equipment.

  • Patent number: 4515183
Abstract: The invention relates to a pneumatically driven control valve for the reversible operation of a pneumatic unit. In an addition to an air distribution system for regulating the speed of the pneumatic unit, the control valve incorporates an air volume control system which is fully integrated into the air distribution system. The key component is a rotary slide valve, the rotation of which distributes the compressed air while its axial displacement throttles the air stream flowing through the valve, the degree of throttling depending upon the pressure level of the compressed air delivered to the pneumatic unit. In this way, the control valve is kept simple in construction with very few moving parts and high functional accuracy.

  • Patent number: 4484598
Abstract: A pneumatic control apparatus for an interchangeably operable pneumatic device in which both the shut-off reversing valve for selectively supplying a flow of compressed air to the pneumatic device and a pressure reducing valve for restricting the pressure to a determined pre-selectable value, are located in a single housing.

  • Patent number: 4470481
Abstract: A wick of a wick oiler for pneumatic devices is accommodated inside a movable body which, in its idle position, seals off an oil-dampened end of the wick from a line passage to a corresponding pneumatic device. When there is an increase in pressure or flow in the line passage the body moves to expose the wick.
