  • Patent number: 7185941
Abstract: A selectively pressurized sealing and/or locking system for vehicles with a vehicle opening on the body structure. Vehicle elements that are to be sealed and/or locked in relation to one another are attached by locking elements. The locking elements have positive-engagement elements that define a hollow portion and a stiffening bridging part in a transitional area between parts of the vehicle that are to be connected together.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 17, 2006
Date of Patent: March 6, 2007
Assignee: Magna Car Top Systems, GmbH

  • Publication number: 20040216385
Abstract: In a seal element for a vehicle component comprising a seal body delimiting a seal space and the seal body being engaged by the vehicle component when the vehicle component is to be sealed in a closed position of the vehicle component, a reinforcement structure is supported in the seal space so as to be movable relative to the seal body and means are provided for fixing the reinforcement structure in predetermined positions within the seal body.

  • Publication number: 20040182010
Abstract: In a seal element for a movable vehicle component including a support structure comprising at least two sections, the at least the two sections are joined by a hinge portion to permit manufacturing of the seal element with the sections disposed flat in a plane, but permitting pivotal bending of the sections relative to each other upon installation of the seal element in a vehicle component.

  • Patent number: 6715818
Abstract: In a sealing element for a movable roof section of a vehicle which seal element includes a pocket delimited by a sealing wall of the sealing element and is open toward one side for receiving cables, a cable guide channel is formed on the inside of the sealing wall so as to be accessible by way of the open side of the pocket and a sealing lip extends over the open side of the pocket and forms, between the outside of the sealing wall and the sealing lip, a seal channel for receiving a part of the movable roof section when the movable roof section is closed.

  • Patent number: 6364407
Abstract: A sealing element for a vehicle roof with a roof opening in which a movable roof element is arranged so as to be adjustable between open and closed position has a sealing surface which in closed position of the roof element engages with an edge of the roof element to form a seal. In order to improve the seal in a simple manner, the sealing element is provided with a sealing arm which rests on a support. The upper side of the sealing arm forms the sealing surface.

  • Patent number: 6213536
Abstract: A sealing device for at least one frameless window of a motor vehicle includes at least one sealing body with at least one embedded supporting rail, with elastomer profile strands being provided that are formed by areawise sheathing of the supporting rails and which cooperate with the inside and the outside of the window. To improve the sealing action of the sealing device and to make manufacture less expensive, provision is made such that the elastomer profile strands of each sealing body that cooperate with the inside of the window and with the outside of the window have separate supporting rails associated with them, in that both supporting rails are connected with one another at legs that are directed in the same direction and are mounted one on top of the other, and in that the areas of the elastomer profile strands that are in an operating relationship with the window overlap one another areawise in the transverse direction of the vehicle when the sealing bodies are mounted.

  • Patent number: 5445429
Abstract: A convertible wind protection device which is arranged behind a row of seats projects upward over the row of seats and extends along the entire width of the vehicle interior. The wind protection device can be displaced from an inoperative into an operative position. In order to provide a wind protection device with easy operability and in a space-saving housing in its inoperative position when the top is closed, it is provided that the swivellable wind protection device is disposed on the folding top of the convertible.

  • Patent number: 5297837
Abstract: An inflatable roof for a passenger car extends in the inflated condition between a windshield frame and a rear area of the vehicle body and is divided into a plurality of air chambers. So that, while the drag coefficient is acceptable, a sufficient stiffness of the roof is achieved and, furthermore, any balloon-like swelling-up of the roof during the inflating of the air chambers is avoided, it is provided that the roof has air chambers with different pressure levels (operating pressure).
