  • Publication number: 20070254011
Abstract: A method of producing a self-hardening, bioabsorbable composite material, the material produced and its areas of application are described. The method is based on the principal method steps (I) immobilisation of a polymerisation initiator in a microporous pore system of a first partial amount of a bioabsorbable calcium phosphate used in producing the self-hardening, bioabsorbable composite material, (II) immobilisation of a polymerisation activator in the microporous pore system of a second partial amount of the bioabsorbable calcium phosphate used in producing the self-hardening, bioabsorbable composite material and (III) homogeneous mixing of the components according to (I) and (II) with a liquid or paste-form, multi-functional monomer capable of forming a biocompatible, bioabsorbable polymer network or a corresponding monomer mixture and, optionally, with further constituents which modify the properties of the monomer or monomer mixture.

  • Publication number: 20070218098
Abstract: The invention relates to a bone formation agent of porous calcium phosphate having an isotropic sintered structure and, between the particles of the calcium phosphate, statistically distributed pores in a plurality of discrete size ranges. The bone formation agent has at least two, preferably three, discrete pore size distributions. Its porosity has an irregular geometric shape. The sintered particles of the calcium phosphate have a particle size smaller than 63 ?m with a d50 value in the range from 5 to 20 ?m. The interconnecting pore share in the overall porosity is limited to pore sizes less than 10 ?m. The bone formation agent can be used in the form of a granulate or shaped body for bone regeneration. In the case of granulates, the maximum pore diameters are matched to the granulate diameter. The invention relates also to a method of producing the bone formation agent.

  • Patent number: 7251918
Abstract: A fixing bracket is described for joining wooden building components to each other and to a substrate, particularly of the kind used for joining boards used to cover balconies and decks outdoors. It is essential that the fixing bracket is a double angle consisting of two L-sections (2, 2?), having a double web (5) consisting of two section legs (3, 3?), whereby a fixing hole (9, 9?) is provided in the angle flanges (8, 8?). In an advantageous manner, the tongue-shaped spikes (6, 6?) are arranged near the upper edge of the web and are cut directly out of the web and bent out perpendicularly from the web.

  • Patent number: 6107229
Abstract: The invention relates to an aluminofluorosilicate glass for use in a material for dental restoration, which has the following features:a) a ratio of Al (calculated as Al.sub.2 O.sub.3) to Si (calculated as SiO.sub.2) of 0.57-1.12 by mass;b) a total content of Mg (calculated as MgO) and Ba (calculated as BaO) of 29-36% by mass;c) a ratio of Mg (calculated as MgO) to Ba (calculated as BaO) of 0.028-0.32 by mass;d) a content of P (calculated as P.sub.2 O.sub.5) of 2-10% by mass. The glass according to the invention has a high radiopacity, and the refractive index n.sub.D for visible light can be adjusted by varying the phosphorus content.
