Abstract: A hybrid convertible top header is formed of a transverse steel tube flattened at its ends and having end fittings for attachment to the front ends of top front side rails. In one embodiment a pair of apertured latch-mounting steel plates are welded to the tube and the entire steel structure is encapsulated in a thermoplastic shroud comprising upper and lower moldings that are bonded along front and rear flanges. The top cover is secured to the front flange, while a closed or open cell foam pad is mounted on the rear flange to provide an energy-absorbing cushion in case of occupant impact on the header. In another embodiment, the plates are not welded to the tube, and the tube and plates are molded into a closed or open cell reaction injected molded polyurethane body that has sufficient rigidity to maintain a predetermined dimensional relationship between the plates and tube.

Abstract: A cover plates device for closing installation ducts in the interior fitting of spaces, including cover plates located one behind the other and are provided with ventilation and electrical components. An axial length compensation between two adjacent cover plates is provided in a simple manner. A first front side of a first cover plate has--in the area of a surface facing the installation duct--a shoulder-like recess of the height H, which extends approximately rectangularly into the first cover plate 1. A second front side of a second cover plate, which is directed toward the first front side of the first cover plate, is designed corresponding to the height H of the recess such that it can be introduced into the recess in such a manner that length tolerances between the cover plates 1, 2, 3 are compensated.

Abstract: A connecting rod shank of a connecting rod is composed of a plurality of laminated plates having a thickness so that they can be introduced through a gap provided in a partially cylindrical base body of a loop tensioner for a tightening band which encloses the connecting rod shank.
