  • Patent number: 5245724
Abstract: Apparatus for wringing mops, sheets, strips or other wet commodities has a housing which can be placed on top of a bucket and contains a first roller and a second roller movable radially toward and away from the first roller. The mechanism for moving the second roller toward the first roller comprises a pivotable lever which can turn two sector-shaped collecting elements each connected to the trailing end of a discrete flexible elastic pusher the front end of which engages a bearing for the second roller. The pushers are confined to movement along selected paths while they push the second roller toward the first roller so that the rollers cooperate to expel moisture from a commodity between them at a rate which is determined by the selected position of the lever. The first roller can be driven to move a commodity between the rollers upwardly, and springs are provided to pull the second roller away from the first roller.

  • Patent number: 5218734
Abstract: A mop wherein the plate-like carrier for a mophead has a centrally located plate-like support which overlaps the upper sides of inner portions of two plate-like sections having outer portions with devices for releasably clamping flaps at the ends of a mophead. The sections of the carrier are held in operative positions (in which their undersides are substantially coplanar and the median portion of the mophead is stretched along the undersides of the sections) by a single locking bolt which is reciprocable in a guide at the upper side of the support. The guide defines a pivot axis for the lower end of a handle, and the sections are pivotable about two neighboring axes which are normal to the pivot axis for the handle.

  • Patent number: 4704763
Abstract: The plate-like carrier for the absorbent part of a mop is located in a vertical plane while a roller or a blade is caused to move along and in linear contact with successive increments of the absorbent part, either vertically from the upper edge to the lower edge or horizontally from one end to the other end of the carrier. The roller or blade can be moved by a manually operated drive or by a motor through the medium of a carriage.

  • Patent number: 4663798
Abstract: An apparatus for wringing the strands of mops has a housing which supports two lateral carriers for a set of horizontal wringing elements which are installed in the housing and are movable toward and away from the inner side of the front wall of the housing. The wringing elements are pivotable within limits about horizontal axes and have limited freedom of upward and downward movement relative to the lateral walls of the housing so that they can conform the orientation of their profiled front sides to the outlines of adjacent portions of a pile of strands which are introduced into the housing between the front wall and the wringing elements while the carriers maintain such elements in retracted positions. The carriers are formed with horizontal toothed racks mating with gear segments which are rotatably mounted in the housing and can be rotated by a pivotable lever so as to move the carriers and the wringing elements toward or away from the front wall.
