  • Patent number: 7315754
Abstract: An electrode belt for impedance tomography shall be improved such that it has a simple design and makes possible good contacting of the electrodes (2) with the body of the test subject to be examined. The electrode belt (1) has at least 16 electrodes (2) on an electrode holder or belt material (3), which is elastic at least in some sections. The belt formed of one or more belt material sections completely surrounds a test subject to be examined on the circumference of the body. Electrode feed lines (63) extend along the electrode holder (3). The electrode feed lines and are connected to a feed line (6) at least at one feed point (4) on the electrode holder (3).

  • Patent number: 7286863
Abstract: A device is provided for putting an electrode carrier on a recumbent patient. The device includes a first lifting cushion that supports the shoulder region and the head of the patient at the same time and into which a pressurized medium can be admitted. A second lifting cushion is provided that supports the lumbar region and into which pressurized medium can be admitted. A spacer is provided fixing the lifting cushions in relation to one another in the chest region.

  • Patent number: 6520180
Abstract: A device with a gas sensor for measuring a breathing gas component in a breathing gas line is improved such that a pressure correction of the gas concentration measurement can be performed without appreciably affecting the respiration pressure. Provisions are made for branching off a first measuring gas line (23) with a first electrochemical measuring cell (28) from the breathing gas line (7). A first throttling point (26) is arranged in the course of the first measuring gas line (23) between the first electrochemical measuring cell (28) and the breathing gas line (7). A first pressure sensor (29), for the pressure correction, is located downstream of the first electrochemical measuring cell (28).

  • Patent number: 5823186
Abstract: A compact respirator, which is independent from a central air supply includes at least two gas supply lines, which lead to a gas mixer in the inspiration line. The gas lines are part of a mixing and metering unit, wherein one gas supply line has a compressor for ambient air and the at least one additional gas supply line has a metering unit for an auxiliary gas. Upstream of the gas mixer, there is a gas volume flow meter each in each of the gas supply lines. A pressure sensor is arranged in the inspiration line downstream of the gas mixer. The expiration line contains a discharge valve with a pressure sensor arranged upstream of the discharge valve. A central control unit is connected to the compressor, the metering unit, of which there is at least one, to the discharge valve, as well as to the pressure sensors.

  • Patent number: 4028445
Abstract: An apparatus for wetting respiratory gas comprises a receiver having an interior wetting chamber and a cartridge receiving chamber which communicates at its lower end with the wetting chamber and which has an open end for receiving a heater cartridge. The heater cartridge is disposable in the cartridge receiving chamber and it includes an inner portion containing a heater element and an outer sleeve portion which has a lower end disposed in the wetting chamber and has side walls which are spaced from the wall of the inner portion of the cartridge containing the heater element. The receiver contains a duct for supplying water into the space between the sleeve and the inner portion of the cartridge containing the heater so that the water will be heated in its passage around the inner portion and may be discharged through openings at the lower end of the sleeve into the wetting chamber.
