  • Publication number: 20060251840
Abstract: The invention relates to a metallised, coextruded, multi-layered, biaxially orientated polypropylene multi-layer film comprising a base layer containing vacuoles. Said base layer containing vacuoles is covered by one or several layers and the thickness of said covering layer or layers is, in total, at least 3 ?m and the film on the outer surface of said covered layer or layers are metallised and the metallised film has a water vapour permeability of =0.5 g/m2*day at 38° C and 90 % relative air humidity and oxygen permeability of =50 cm3/m2*day*bar at 23° C. and 50% relative air humidity.

  • Publication number: 20060093812
Abstract: The invention relates to metallized, biaxially oriented opaque polypropylene multilayer film comprising at least three layers consisting of a base layer, a first metallized covering layer, and of a second sealable covering layer on the opposite side. The first covering layer contains at least 80% by weight of a propylenelethylene copolymer, which has an ethylene content of 1.2 to <2.8% by weight and a propylene content of 97.2 to 98.8% by weight, a melting point ranging from 145 to 160° C., and a melting enthalpy ranging from 80 to 110 J/g. The first covering layer has a thickness of at least 4 ?m and the base layer contains vacuoles. The thick covering layer can also be formed from a combination consisting of an intermediate layer with a thin covering layer.

  • Patent number: 5876857
Abstract: A coextruded, biaxially orientated film comprising a base layer, which comprises a polypropylene or a polypropylene mixture, and at least one top layer comprising olefinic polymers. The top layer comprises a combination of inorganic and/or organic particles and tertiary aliphatic amine of the formula I ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 essentially is an at least partially unsaturated alkyl radical having at least 18 carbon atoms or an essentially completely saturated alkyl radical having 8 to 26 carbon atoms andR.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are identical or different and are R.sup.4 --CH.sub.2 OH, in which R.sup.4 is an essentially saturated C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl radical. The film is useful, for example, as a label or wrapping.

  • Patent number: 5716698
Abstract: The invention relates to a peelable, oriented, opaque, multilayer polyolefin film comprising at least one opaque layer and a peelable top layer. All layers of the film are essentially vacuole-free. The opaque layer contains pigments having a mean particle diameter of from 0.01 to 1 .mu.m.
