  • Patent number: 5600092
Abstract: The invention relates to a single contact spring, especially for RF-screening of electronic devices, for latch-locking into sheet-metal apertures. The invention envisages, in a first embodiment, that the single contact spring includes a latch cage (14) and a resilient contact part (2) configured as a contact cup (6), the latch cage (1) is generally configured in a trough shape and, in its lower part, trapezoidally in cross-section, being open at its two front ends and being provided on its two longitudinal sides with two opposing cutouts (16). The top edge of the longitudinal side is angled-off outward and the contact cup (6) is held by means of an angled-off, resilient carrier part (14) fastened to one of the front ends. The advantage of this spring is that it can be mounted in one mounting direction and can be laterally traversed. The contact cup can also, in a further embodiment, be configured in a roof shape.

  • Patent number: 5253141
Abstract: A modular mainframe computer system having functional units separately housed in respective cabinets aligned in at least one row to form one central unit, the central unit having a central processor cabinet at one end of the row in which is housed at least one central processor, the central, processor having an interconnection portion in assembly therewith, the control processor being so positioned at a backside of the central processor cabinet that the interconnection portion projects outwardly from the central processor cabinet perpendicularly to the row thereby leaving a free space within a front interior section of the central processor cabinet within which can be received the interconnect portion of another central processor of another central unit oriented perpendicularly to the control unit of concern. Ultimately, four such central units can be joined in a cruciform or pinwheel configuration.

  • Patent number: 4997240
Abstract: Modular housing system for electronic equipment. A modular housing system for electronic equipment, particularly in the field of data technology, has capping pieces of extruded sections provided with guide grooves in a longitudinal direction that are modularly joined with corner nodes and connector elements adaptable for the respective utilization. Particularly in the field of data technology, it is necessary to be able to undertake a structuring of electronic equipment that is fast, variable and simple to construct. The modular housing system has grooves with a keyhole-shaped cross section and proceed along the edges of the respective lateral surfaces of the capping pieces on verges thereof and/or parallel thereto. Bores are provided in the end faces of the capping pieces and the edges or verges at which no guide grooves proceed and a further bore is provided in the center of the cross section of the end face of the capping pieces.

  • Patent number: 4640979
Abstract: An RF shield of electronic devices for example, a covering for electrical equipment which includes frame and panel structures having planar parts characterized by a spring element being assembled on the planar part to insure contact between the part and another part. The spring element has a pair of end portions connected by a center portion which has a convex configuration and the end portions have hook-like portions for securing the spring to the planar part by being inserted in a pair of spaced apertures or for engaging an edge of the part and an edge of an aperture. The hook end portion can extend in the same direction and one portion can include a 180.degree. bend to lock the spring on the part. The convex center portion can be a smooth convex curve or it can be a sharp triangular-shaped bend.

  • Patent number: 4554400
Abstract: The RF shielding of electronic devices with a frame and sheet metal structure to form coverings for the electrical parts characterized by the structure having planar parts provided with springs to insure contact between the metal parts. Each of the springs has a pair of tabs which are connected to a center portion by a pair of bent portions having bends in at least two directions to form humps or arcuate portions. The springs are secured to the planar part by having the ends extending through a pair of apertures with the tabs engaging one side of the planar part and the center portion contacting an abutment surface between the apertures to insure that the bent portions curve above the outer surface. The abutment in the planar part may include an aperture and the center portion may have a bent nose that extends into the aperture. In another embodiment, the center portion is bent to form a nose portion which engages a web forming the abutment.
