Abstract: A thread control device for a chainstitch sewing machine comprises a thread feeder which is moved simultaneously with the stitching needle by the drive means for the stitching needle. The thread feeder is attached in such a manner as to be able to oscillate at a pivot drive which is allocated to a shaft rotatably mounted in the upper arm casing of the sewing machine.

Abstract: A sewing machine including a stitch length regulator that adjusting the extent of the horizontal movement of the feed dog. The stitch length regulator is operated by rotation and includes an eccentric that is disposed on a rotating shaft. The eccentric is radially adjustable relative to the rotating shaft by rotating a threaded spindle with a manual tool such as a screw driver.

Abstract: A looper drive for a chain stitch sewing machine that includes a flexible connection that includes an intermediate guide rod that extends between a crank arm and the looper shaft. The intermediate guide rod is mounted to pivot on the crank arm and is constructed to allow a receptacle that is carried by the looper shaft to swivel or oscillate relative thereto. The intermediate guide rod carries a ball which extends into a cylindrical-shaped opening formed in the receptacle.

The arrangement for advancing material has a thrust drive which includes a thrust frame that imparts advancing motion of the feed dog. The lifting motion of the feed dog is imparted by a lifting rod that is slidably guided in the thrust frame.

Abstract: A sewing machine has a needle bar, which is mounted in a frame, a continuously operating feed device for the workpiece, a looper which reciprocates transversely to the workpiece feed direction, a spindle which is mounted in the sewing machine arm, and a cam, which is disposed on the arm spindle in order to swing the frame in the workpiece feed direction. The frame is driven in dependence upon the movement of the arm spindle by way of a positively connected transmission. Two cams permit optimum adaptation of the swinging movement of the frame to the continuously moving workpiece.

Abstract: A cylinder bed machine provided with a thread cutting device having a retractable and laterally movable assemblage which includes a thread seizing member, a knife and a thread clamp. Upon actuation the assemblage cooperatively moves forwardly and laterally to a predetermined distance from the stitching area whereat the knife and thread clamp are held. The thread seizing member continues forward movement to a position for seizing the threads situated about the looper. Upon return, the seizing member carries the threads to the knife and thread clamp position whereat they are cut and clamped. Once the threads are cut and clamped the assemblage is returned to its initial position. An adjustable guide directs the seizing member through the thread loops formed about the looper.
