  • Patent number: 9023485
Abstract: The invention relates to an electro-optical or electromechanical structural component, in particular, an LED, connector or stamped grid, or sliding element, made of a rolled metal substrate of a metal strip, or a sheet produced therefrom, made of Cu or a Cu alloy strip, Al or an Al alloy strip, Fe or a Fe alloy strip, Ti or a Ti alloy strip, Ni or a Ni alloy strip or a stainless steel strip, which has a specially structured surface. The structure of the surface allows joining using optical methods, even in the case of highly reflective surface coatings, and simultaneously improves the functional properties of the components used.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 8, 2011
Date of Patent: May 5, 2015
    Assignee: Wieland-Werke AG
Inventors: Isabell Buresch, Dieter Stock, Thorsten Weireter

  • Patent number: 6097333
Abstract: A method provides for contactless measurement of the range between a transceiver unit for microwaves in the frequency band from 1 to 100 GHz and an object to be investigated using a pulse principle. The microwaves are focused onto the surface by an antenna to detect the contour of the object. In particular, the surface of a bolt produced using a spray compacting method can be detected.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 5613187
Abstract: A rotationally symmetrical preform (1) is made by atomizing molten metal by means of a gas jet in a nozzle and by deposition of the droplets on a suitable substrate, wherein at least two independent nozzles (2,3) are arranged so that their droplet streams (4,5) overlap and are directed onto a substrate (6) of circular cross-section, and wherein insoluble particles are injected either into the first or into the second droplet stream (4 or 5) or wherein different types of particles are injected into the first and the second droplet stream (4,5).
    Type: Grant

    Assignee: Wieland-Werke AG Metallwerke
Inventors: Dieter Stock, W. Gary Watson
  • Patent number: 4481807
Abstract: In an externally ignited internal combustion engine with a knocking sensor which comprises a membrane to absorb the vibrations of the engine housing during knocking of the internal combustion engine, cooperating with a vibration absorber, whereby the membrane is formed by a thin walled location of the engine housing or by an opening in the wall of the engine housing which is closed by a membrane plate. The knocking sensor can be mounted at an easily accessible location and it is also assured that the resonance characteristic of all internal combustion engines of a series are the same at the location scanned by the knocking sensor.

Inventors: Richard Van Basshuysen, Dieter Stock
  • Patent number: 4119073
Abstract: A spark-ignition fuel-injection internal combustion engine is provided with a measuring member in its induction system to measure the air flow and a fuel injection nozzle in its induction system downstream of the measuring member.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 5, 1976
Date of Patent: October 10, 1978
Assignee: Audi NSU Auto Union Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventors: Dieter Stock, Johannes Steinwart
  • Patent number: 3937186
Abstract: A trochoidal type rotary internal combustion engine wherein the intake port is controlled by the rotor, and variation in the fuel feed is provided by a slidable valve member in the intake pipe, which in closed position seats very close to the peripheral surface of the engine cavity to prevent entry of exhaust gas into the intake line at idling or low load conditions, the valve being controlled by a foot pedal or other conventional adjusting means.
