  • Patent number: 4076662
Abstract: N-formyl- or N-acetyl-aminomethyl ethers make very effective plasticizers for aminoplast resins and are particularly desirable for plasticizing such resins in resin-impregnated cellulosic products.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 15, 1976
Date of Patent: February 28, 1978
    Assignee: Cassella Farbwerke Mainkur Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Karl Schnee, Steffen Piesch, Dieter Tichy
  • Patent number: 4043984
Abstract: Melamine resins are effectively elasticized with an elasticizer having the formula R-C.sub.6 H.sub.4 --COO--X--OH wherein C.sub.6 H.sub.4 denotes a phenylene group, R denotes a hydrogen atom or a methyl or ethyl group, and X denotes an unbranched or branched alkylene group with 2 to 6 carbon atoms whose carbon chain is either uninterrupted or interrupted by one oxygen atom. Such elasticized resins are particularly suitable for bonding together laminates.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 4, 1975
Date of Patent: August 23, 1977
    Assignee: Cassella Farbwerke Mainkur Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Karl-Heinz Keil, Karlfried Keller, Joachim Ribka, Dieter Tichy
  • Patent number: 4031064
Abstract: Maleamic and fumaramic acids and certain of their derivatives make very good curing agents for converting aminoplast condensates to cured resins.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 18, 1975
Date of Patent: June 21, 1977
    Assignee: Cassella Farbwerke Mainkur Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Karl Schnee, Dieter Tichy, Steffen Piesch
  • Patent number: 4016336
