  • Patent number: 4481321
Abstract: Enol ethers corresponding to the following general formula ##STR1## are suitable as non-discoloring ozone protective agents for rubber.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 22, 1983
Date of Patent: November 6, 1984
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft

  • Patent number: 4469830
Abstract: The ozone-resistance of natural and synthetic rubber is increased when an enol ether of the formula ##STR1## is incorporated.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 22, 1983
Date of Patent: September 4, 1984
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Dieter W. Bruck, Werner Jeblick, Lothar Ruetz
  • Patent number: 4444739
Abstract: An improved process for the production of cyanogen chloride is disclosed according to which liquid hydrocyanic acid and gaseous chlorine are reacted in an aqueous medium. The liquid hydrocyanic acid and chlorine are introduced into a column-shaped reactor via at least one two-component nozzle. The reaction mixture is removed at the head of the column-shaped reactor. Preferably, the hydrocyanic acid is in liquid form and the chlorine is in gaseous form. By the process disclosed, quantitative yields of cyanogen chloride are obtained separately from aqueous solutions of hydrochloric acid of a strength suitable for commercial use.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 12, 1982
Date of Patent: April 24, 1984
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft

  • Patent number: 4427817
Abstract: The use of open-chain acetals or ketals corresponding to the following general formula ##STR1## as non-discoloring anti-ozonants for natural and/or synthetic rubber.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 6, 1982
Date of Patent: January 24, 1984
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft

  • Patent number: 4150243
Abstract: A process for the tertiary dealkylation of a tertiary alkyl containing m- and/or p-cresol wherein a tertiary alkyl containing m- and/or p-cresol is continously introduced into a reaction vessel with a small amount of sulfuric acid or an quivalent amount of a sulfonic acid and the reaction vessel contains a high concentration of m- and/or p-cresol or a high boiling phenol which under the prevailing reaction conditions is not substantially vaporized from the reaction mixture. The reaction mixture is maintained at a temperature of no greater than 230.degree. C. The reaction products are withdrawn continuously from the reactor (and separated into its components) and at the same time a small amount of the reaction mixture being withdrawn intermittently or continously from the reactor.
