  • Publication number: 20220047705
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to the formation, chemistry and application of biologically active compositions. More particularly, the present invention relates to certain dyes, specifically porphyrin and chlorin derivatives, in combination with inventive polymers, i.e. light-cleavable polymers, that can be used as photosensitizer compositions for a wide range of light irradiation treatments such as photodynamic therapy of cancer, infections and other diseases. The dye derivatives may either be adsorbed on, or incorporated in, or attached to specific polymers, which as well form part of the invention.

  • Patent number: 5813123
Abstract: A motor chainsaw has a housing enclosing a motor with actuator and a saw chain. A braking device for the saw chain is positioned in the housing. The braking device has a brake drum and a brake band guided around the brake drum. The braking device has a brake lever connected to the housing so as to be pivotable about a first axis of rotation for moving the brake band from a release position into a braking position. A return kick brake for actuating the braking device is provided. The return kick brake has a ready position and an actuated position in which the brake band is in the braking position. The return kick brake has a hand protection grip, a control lever, and a return kick brake spring for loading the control lever. The control lever, when the return kick brake is moved from the ready position into the actuated position, pivots the brake lever into the braking position.

  • Patent number: 5243764
Abstract: The invention is directed to a motor-driven chain saw having a housing and a drive motor mounted in the housing for driving a sprocket wheel. The sprocket wheel, in turn, drives a saw chain guided around the periphery of a guide bar. The flat guide bar projects forwardly in the longitudinal direction of the chain saw and has a rearward end facing toward the sprocket wheel. Stud bolts fixed to the housing lie perpendicularly to the guide bar and project therethrough. The stud bolts also extend through a sprocket wheel cover laterally closing off the housing. The stud bolts have projecting free ends carrying respective nuts. In this way, the rearward end of the guide bar can be tightly clamped between the housing and the sprocket wheel cover. The stud bolts have respective other ends facing away from the guide bar which are tightly seated in the engine block of the drive motor. In this way, the loads acting on the guide bar can be taken up without danger of causing fractures in the housing.

  • Patent number: 4680862
Abstract: A motor-driven chain saw is electrically operated by means of a universal motor and has two brake systems operating independently of one another. A mechanical brake system serves as a safety brake and when actuated, the mechanical brake system brings the saw chain to a standstill instantaneously. The second brake system is an electric coasting brake, which when the switch is released stops the saw chain quickly but without recoil. The electrical braking is effected by reversing the polarity of one pole coil of the field winding and short-circuiting it with the rotor winding.

  • Patent number: 4678411
Abstract: An oil pump is disclosed for a motor-driven apparatus and in particular for lubricating the cutting chain of a chain saw. The oil pump has a pump piston that is rotatable about its longitudinal axis and has a control cam for its axial reciprocation, which as it revolves comes into contact engagement with a control bolt. A control slide upon which a biasing force is exerted is associated with the pump piston. The stroke of the pump piston is limited during normal operation by means of the control slide. If an increased amount of lubricating oil is required, the limitation on the piston stroke effected by the control slide is overcome by moving the control slide away from the pump piston counter to its biasing force, so that the pump piston can move through its maximum total stroke as predetermined by the control cam.

  • Patent number: 4662072
Abstract: A chain saw is disclosed having a drive motor which drives the sprocket wheel of the saw chain via a transmission stage. The sprocket wheel rotates in the same direction as the drive shaft of the drive motor and drives the saw chain in such a manner that the portion thereof traversing the lower periphery of the cutter bar moves toward the housing of the chain saw. The saw chain is braked with a braking arrangement which develops a braking moment that causes the chain saw to develop a reaction moment that opposes the kickback moment occurring as a consequence of the kickback action. In this way, the angle through which the chain saw is deflected during kickback is reduced. In addition, a compact configuration of the motor housing of the chain saw is obtained wherein the braking arrangement is kept free of dirt and chips.

  • Patent number: 4644658
Abstract: The invention is directed to a motor-driven apparatus such as a motor-driven chain saw or the like. It includes a lubricating-oil pump and an oil supply for a work tool and is equipped with a device for interrupting the supply of oil to the tool. This facilitates use of the chain saw apparatus with an accessory attachment work tool such as a hedge trimmer, drilling tool or the like for which a flow of lubricating oil is unnecessary.

  • Patent number: 4600418
Abstract: The invention is directed to an air-intake arrangement for a two-stroke engine for use in hand-guided, engine-driven apparatus such as motor-driven chain saws. The air-intake arrangement includes an air filter and a baffle wall for guiding fuel particles that are buffeted back out of the air induction channel by the engine. The baffle wall has a curvature to define a deflector to redirect the fuel particles in a largely gaseous state towards the carburetor. The arrangement provides an optimum air-fuel mixture which is not overrich and a trouble-free operation of the engine.
