  • Patent number: 6447242
Abstract: In a feed pump designed as a side-passage pump and having a driven impeller rotating in a housing a liquid to be fed is supplied radially from the inside to guide blades arranged in the impeller. For this purpose, the impeller has a groove adjoining the guide blades. As a result, Feed pump has an especially high efficiency.

  • Patent number: 6425377
Abstract: In a fuel delivery unit for a motor vehicle, having a delivery pump which has a preliminary stage and a main stage, an outlet channel of the preliminary stage is guided radially outward and configured such that it rises upward. An inlet channel of the main stage is guided laterally past the preliminary stage. In accordance with this design, impellers of the delivery pump can be arranged particularly low down and gas bubbles are guided away out of the preliminary stage in a very simple manner.

  • Patent number: 6403243
Abstract: A fuel cell system which has a fuel cell with a supply line and a discharge line for a fuel as well as a supply line and a discharge line for an oxidizing agent. Also provided is a fuel tank which contains, for example, benzene or methanol for producing the fuel for the fuel cell. To avoid the release of hydrocarbons from the fuel contained in the tank, a filter element, for example an active carbon filter, is connected to the fuel tank. To be able to regenerate the filter element, the filter element is connected to the discharge line for the oxidizing agent and/or the discharge line for the fuel. The filter element is regenerated by the flow of exhaust gas from the fuel cell. The filter element is preferably connected via a connecting line to a burner, with the result that the hydrocarbons taken up by the flow of exhaust gas can be burned in the burner. Furthermore, by designing the fuel cell system appropriately, a leakage diagnosis can also be performed in the fuel tank.

  • Publication number: 20010041132
Abstract: A feed pump includes an impeller with two rings of guide blades delimiting blade chambers. The rings of guide blades concentrically surrounding one another and have different angular intervals between guide blades. The angular intervals between the guide blades of each ring vary within a range of values and ranges of values of each ring of guide blades is different to avoid the additions of noise emissions the feed pump consequently has noises which cause particularly little disturbance.

  • Publication number: 20010010874
Abstract: A fuel cell system which has a fuel cell is described. Also provided is a device for producing/preparing the fuel, for example hydrogen, which is connected on its outlet side to a fuel supply line and on its inlet side to a device for supplying fuel. The device for supplying fuel has a dual pump, in which a starting material for the fuel, stored in the motor-fuel tank, and water fed in via a water supply line, which is for example process water produced during the fuel cell process, are mixed to form a fuel/water mixture. This fuel/water mixture is intermediately stored in an intermediate tank before it is fed to the device for producing/preparing the fuel.

  • Patent number: 6231300
Abstract: In a peripheral pump, having a rotor (2) which rotates in a pump casing (1) and having two delivery chambers (11, 12), which extend on both sides of the end sides (3, 4) and each have circular cross sections, the delivery chambers (11, 12) have a communicating passage (13) between them, formed by an overlap of their cross sections. As a result, the liquid can flow without interference from one delivery chamber (11) into the other delivery chamber (12). One delivery chamber (11) is connected to an inlet duct, while the other delivery chamber (12) is connected to an outlet duct.

  • Patent number: 6152687
Abstract: In a feed pump designed for feeding fuel in a motor vehicle and having two feed chambers (11, 12) located opposite one another, of which one is connected to an inlet port (18) and the other to an outlet port (19), the feed chamber (11) connected to the inlet port (18) has a calming region (21) which a compression region (22) adjoins. Fuel entering the feed pump is thereby first calmed. Subsequently, in particular, gas bubbles present in hot fuel are dissolved due to the vapour pressure in the fuel being exceeded.

  • Patent number: 6132185
Abstract: In a feed pump (2) designed as a peripheral or side channel pump, guide vanes (9, 11, 12) arranged in an impeller (4) have a different angle of inclination in the radially inner region from the radially outer region. As a result, the characteristic curve of the feed pump (2) can be modified simply by exchanging the impeller (4). By virtue of the invention, the feed pump (2), whilst having an intended feed pressure and volume flow, can be set to particularly high efficiency, depending on the viscosity of the liquid to be fed.

  • Patent number: 5479066
Abstract: The electric lamp comprises a cap (10) having a housing (11) in a base portion (13) of which holes (14) are present to allow current conductors (3) to extend to contact members (15) of the cap. In the housing (11) a rubber disk (20) is present against the base portion (13), kept pressed against it by a pressing member (30). The rubber disk is pierced by the current conductors (3), sealing the cap and preventing volatile compounds to enter a reflector in which the lamp may be mounted.

  • Patent number: 4849670
Abstract: In an electrical lamp, whose envelope is closed by a pinch of rectangular cross-section, through which current-supply conductors are passed and which is supported in a cap between inwardly projecting parts, which seize around the narrower side faces of the pinch, according to the invention, one of the current supply conductors is bent backwards with its part projecting from the pinch along one of the narrower side faces and is clamped between pinch and lamp cap. Thus, it is possible to use a cap having only one bottom contact and nevertheless to secure the lamp envelope to the cap without additional means.

  • Patent number: 4783345
Abstract: Prepregs can be prepared by impregnating reinforcement materials such as glass, carbon or plastic (in the form of fibers or nonwoven or woven materials) with a solution of a polyepoxy resin and a polyamine as a hardener and subsequent drying. For the manufacture of storage-stable prepregs based on polyepoxy resins, 1,3,5-tris(3-amino-4-alkylphenyl-2,4,6-trioxo-hexahydrotriazine with a C.sub.1 - to C.sub.4 alkyl radical is used as the hardener. The new method leads to storage-stable prepregs and assures that composite materials, especially circuit boards, manufactured therefrom meet the requirements for these materials.

  • Patent number: 4567397
Abstract: An electric lamp having a tubular metal cap, in which a metal sleeve is arranged. The pinch of a lamp envelope is accommodated in the sleeve with a clamping fit. The cap has at least three depressions which are distributed around its circumference and which are each secured to the sleeve. The inner diameter of the cap--apart from the depressions--is larger than the outer diameter of the sleeve over the whole length of the cap opposite the sleeve. The light source of this lamp can be aligned in three directions with respect to the cap by longitudinal movement and pivoting, about transverse axes before the sleeve securing the cap to the lamp envelope without the use of cement.
