  • Patent number: 8342834
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for spinning and crimping a synthetic multifilament yarn, wherein a filament bundle is spun from a polymer melt and compressed to a yarn plug. The yarn plug is advanced at a cooling speed and cooled within a cooling zone in a moving cooling groove. After cooling, the yarn plug is disentangled to form a crimped yarn, with the latter being wound to a package. To obtain an adequate cooling of the yarn plug and, with that, a stable and highest possible crimp in the yarn, the method of the invention provides for selecting the length of the cooling zone and the cooling speed of the yarn plug such that the yarn plug is cooled in the cooling groove over a period of at least 1 second. To this end, the apparatus of the invention includes a cooling groove, whose width is dimensioned such that the yarn plug can be advanced in meander form in a plurality of superposed layers.

  • Publication number: 20070138686
Abstract: A melt spinning device used for producing a plurality of multifilament yarns and which comprises a plurality of spinning nozzles for extruding a plurality of filament bundles, a preparation device for separately combining the filament bundles to individual yarns and a plurality of treatment devices. The filament bundles, when being extruded, are separated by a center distance (M) and the yarns in the treatment device are guided in a substantially smaller treatment spacing (B). This provides an especially compact melt spinning device and allows a rapid and uncomplicated threading of the filament bundles. For this purpose, a plurality of separating yarn guides are mounted downstream of the preparation device in the thread path. The separating yarn guides are arranged at a yarn spacing (S) to each other which is substantially smaller than the center distance (M).

  • Patent number: 7150083
Abstract: The invention relates to a compressive crimping device for a synthetic multi-threaded yarn. The thread is compressed by a texturing device to form a tangle of thread. The tangle of thread is subsequently cooled by means of a cooling device and unraveled to form a crimped thread. The tangle of thread runs through a heating area in the transition area between the texturing device and the cooling device, the heating area being essentially defined by the distance between the tangle outlet of the texturing device and a tangle receiving element of the cooling device. According to the invention, a means of adjustment is provided in order to adjust the distance and deflection angle between the tangle outlet and the element receiving the tangle.

  • Publication number: 20050263941
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for spinning dyed filaments from a dyed polymer melt, wherein an undyed polymer melt is produced by a melt producer. A liquid dye is added to the polymer melt by means of a dye metering device. To mix the liquid dye and dye the polymer melt, a mixing unit is provided. The dyed polymer is then spun to filaments by means of a spin unit. To obtain before the spinning step a uniform coloration of the polymer melt despite the short dwelling time of the liquid dye in the polymer melt, the liquid dye and the polymer melt are mixed in a plurality of successive mixing units which are formed by a mixer combination comprising at least one static mixer and at least one dynamic mixer.
