  • Patent number: 7080569
Abstract: A powershift transmission is proposed using two transmission paths, a friction clutch being assigned to each transmission path and the transmission paths being coupleable to an output shaft for torque transmission. The transmission has a device that detects the clutch torque transmitted by the friction clutch of the active transmission path, which is coupled to the output shaft, and, when the clutch torque falls below threshold value, initiates a disengagement of the active gear ratio.

  • Publication number: 20060016282
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling gear-shifting processes of a powershift gearbox which can be coupled to a drive motor and has gear steps comprising two friction clutches and a plurality of clutches, and at least one gearbox actuator for actuating the gear steps. Said method comprises the following steps: the torque of the drive motor is received by the new friction clutch associated with the new gear step to be engaged; before the disengagement of the old gear step and before or during the torque reception, a pre-determined pre-tensioning force is applied to the clutch of the old gear step by means of the gearbox actuator; and the old gear step is disengaged when the motor torque and the clutch torque are balanced.

  • Publication number: 20050126877
Abstract: A method and apparatus for reducing the thermal load on a motor vehicle clutch system. The clutch includes at least a pressure plate, a clutch disk, and a flywheel, by way of which a torque is transmitted. The friction forces that exist on the respective friction surfaces of the clutch disk are unevenly distributed. The clutch is cooled by a flow of cooling air that is led through the clutch bell that encloses the clutch and that defines a housing. The cooling air is conducted from the existing ventilation air inlets of the vehicle, and a jet pump arranged in the exhaust system is disclosed for withdrawing the cooling air from the clutch housing.
