  • Patent number: 8392815
Abstract: A microcontroller which can be coupled to an execution unit. For the operation of the microcontroller, a program in the microcontroller generates a message as a function of input data and transmits said message to the execution unit. For the operation of the microcontroller, accompanying the message, a check code is generated as a function of the execution of the program and is transmitted to the execution unit. For the operation of the execution unit, a test determines whether the check code is logically predefined and/or received within a predetermined time interval, wherein in the case of a positive test result, the message is designated as valid, and in the case of a negative result, the message is designated as invalid.

  • Patent number: 7539903
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for monitoring the execution of a program in a microcomputer of an electronic device, especially a sensor circuit for motor vehicles. According to the inventive method, the program processes input data and produces output data, copies a program in addition to the program which is executed, said copy being stored in an address area in the micro-computer other than the program, using the input data provided for the program. The output data of the copy is compared to the data of the program and an error message is produced if the programs are not consistent.

  • Patent number: 7509830
Abstract: A method for monitoring a rotation rate sensor comprising a vibration gyroscope that represents a band-pass filter and that is part of at least one control circuit, wherein the control circuit comprises a digital and analog components and excites the vibration gyroscope to vibrate with its natural frequency by supplying it with an excitation signal. An output signal can be gathered from the vibration gyroscope from which the excitation signal and the rotation rate signal can be derived by filtering and amplification. Redundant analog components and at least one analog to digital converter are used to measure analog signals and read characteristic values within the digital components and compare the measured characteristic values with limiting values.

  • Patent number: 7263454
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for monitoring a vibrating gyroscope which represents a resonator and forms part of at least one control loop that excites the vibrating gyroscope with its natural frequency by supplying an excitation signal. An output signal can be extracted from the vibrating gyroscope, the excitation signal being derived from said output signal by means of filtering and amplifying. According to the invention, the quality of the resonator is measured. If the measured quality is below a threshold value, an error message is generated.

  • Patent number: 7127932
Abstract: In a method for monitoring a rotation rate sensor with a vibrational gyroscope which has a first input and a first output which form part of a primary control loop which excites the vibrational gyroscope by supplying an excitation signal to the first input at its natural frequency, where the vibrational gyroscope also has a second input and a second output which form part of a secondary control loop, where an output signal can be taken from the second output, said output signal being amplified and subjected to analog/digital conversion and then demodulated into an inphase component and a quadrature component. The components are filtered and are then modulated again and compiled to form a driver signal which is supplied to the second input. A rotation rate signal is derived from the inphase component, the inphase component and the quadrature component have a test signal added to them whose frequency brings about sidebands which are situated in the driver signal outside of the second control loop's passband.

  • Patent number: 6472998
Abstract: An improved receiver (5) of a remote control system, in particular for closing systems of a motor vehicle, and a method for operating such a remote control system are proposed. Modern motor vehicle closing systems are equipped with remote control systems which, in addition to the central locking of the doors, also perform so-called comfort functions such as the closing of the windows or of the sunroof. For safety reasons, such a comfort function must be terminated as soon as a signal fails to be received. If the remote control system is activated at the limit of its range, the response threshold of the receiver (5) may be undershot as a result of the transmitter (1) moving. This leads to undesired breaking off of the comfort function, or to jerky operation of the comfort function. According to the invention, it is therefore proposed to implement the response threshold of the receiver so that it is capable of being switched over.
