Patent number: 8392815Abstract: A microcontroller which can be coupled to an execution unit. For the operation of the microcontroller, a program in the microcontroller generates a message as a function of input data and transmits said message to the execution unit. For the operation of the microcontroller, accompanying the message, a check code is generated as a function of the execution of the program and is transmitted to the execution unit. For the operation of the execution unit, a test determines whether the check code is logically predefined and/or received within a predetermined time interval, wherein in the case of a positive test result, the message is designated as valid, and in the case of a negative result, the message is designated as invalid.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 2008Date of Patent: March 5, 2013Assignee: Continental Automotive GmbHInventors: Zheng-Yu Jiang, Horst Geib, Dietmar Schmid

Patent number: 7127932Abstract: In a method for monitoring a rotation rate sensor with a vibrational gyroscope which has a first input and a first output which form part of a primary control loop which excites the vibrational gyroscope by supplying an excitation signal to the first input at its natural frequency, where the vibrational gyroscope also has a second input and a second output which form part of a secondary control loop, where an output signal can be taken from the second output, said output signal being amplified and subjected to analog/digital conversion and then demodulated into an inphase component and a quadrature component. The components are filtered and are then modulated again and compiled to form a driver signal which is supplied to the second input. A rotation rate signal is derived from the inphase component, the inphase component and the quadrature component have a test signal added to them whose frequency brings about sidebands which are situated in the driver signal outside of the second control loop's passband.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 2004Date of Patent: October 31, 2006Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Heinz-Werner Morell, Dietmar Schmid

Patent number: 6756878Abstract: An invention relates to an apparatus for activating and/or deactivating a security device, particularly an entry device for a motor vehicle, having a portable transmitter unit for wirelessly transmitting a coded information item which is received by a receiver apparatus and is compared with a prescribed coded information item, the receiver apparatus being capable of outputting an actuation signal to the security device if the two information items match, and the receiver apparatus being connected to a mechanical device for operating the security device. In an apparatus in which unauthorized deactivation of the security device is reliably prevented, the receiver apparatus is disabled for the reception and/or evaluation of the coded information items and/or for the output of the actuation signal to the security device after the security device has been mechanically activated, the block being lifted after the security device has been mechanically deactivated.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 2000Date of Patent: June 29, 2004Assignee: Mannesmann VDO AGInventors: Hans-Peter Lässle, Dietmar Schmid

Patent number: 6472998Abstract: An improved receiver (5) of a remote control system, in particular for closing systems of a motor vehicle, and a method for operating such a remote control system are proposed. Modern motor vehicle closing systems are equipped with remote control systems which, in addition to the central locking of the doors, also perform so-called comfort functions such as the closing of the windows or of the sunroof. For safety reasons, such a comfort function must be terminated as soon as a signal fails to be received. If the remote control system is activated at the limit of its range, the response threshold of the receiver (5) may be undershot as a result of the transmitter (1) moving. This leads to undesired breaking off of the comfort function, or to jerky operation of the comfort function. According to the invention, it is therefore proposed to implement the response threshold of the receiver so that it is capable of being switched over.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 1999Date of Patent: October 29, 2002Assignee: Mannesmann VDO AGInventors: Hans-Peter Lässle, Dietmar Schmid
