  • Patent number: 6199817
Abstract: A locking element (30) is arranged slidable between an unlocked position and locked position on the lighting unit (10). An operating element (58) is rotatably mounted on the lighting unit (10). The operating element (58) is coupled with the locking element (30) by means of an eccentrically mounted finger (69) on it, so that a rotational motion of the operating element (58) is converted into a sliding motion of the locking element (30). A pin (20) is arranged on the vehicle part (12) on which the locking element (30) is lockable for securing the lighting unit (10). The operating element (58) allows the locking element (30) to be locked on the pin (20) when it is not directly accessible.

  • Patent number: 6164806
Abstract: A lighting device has a sealed interior, which communicates with the environment via an upper vent opening and another lower vent opening. The upper vent opening is covered with a mat-like insert, which is air-permeable and water-repellant. The upper vent opening is formed in a wall that points downward. To protect the upper vent opening against splashing water, a shielding device is provided. Communicating with the lower vent opening is a line that discharges on the underside of the vehicle. When the vehicle is in motion, a pressure difference is developed between the upper vent opening and the lower vent opening, so that there is a flow through the interior from top to bottom. The insert prevents dirt and water from the road from entering the interior.
