  • Patent number: 7481249
Abstract: A reed drive of a loom includes a reed shaft connected to a reed. A conversion gearing having an input element and an output element is provided at each end of the reed shaft. The input elements are coupled to driven shafts of electromotive rotary drives to produce a common rotational motion with the same rotational speed as the driven shafts. The conversion gearings convert the rotating motion of their input elements into a reversible rotation of the output elements, and the output elements are coupled to the reed shaft in a rotationally fixed manner. Thus, the number of complete rotations of an input element is equal to the number of complete motion cycles of the reed shaft per unit of time.

  • Publication number: 20080099095
Abstract: A reed drive of a loom comprises a reed shaft (3) connected to the reed (1). A conversion gearing (7, 8) each having a respective input element (11, 12) and a respective output element (13, 14) is located at the ends of the reed shaft (3). The input elements (11, 12) are coupled to the driven shafts (23, 24) of electromotive rotary drives (19, 20) for effecting a common rotational motion of the same rotational speed. The conversion gearings (7, 8), alone, serve to convert the rotating motion of their input elements into a motion of the output elements (13, 14) whose direction of rotation can be reversed. To this end, the output elements (13, 14) are coupled to the reed shaft (3) in a rotationally fixed manner.

  • Patent number: 7114527
Abstract: A method achieves highly constant energy in the operation of a loom and shedding machine with separated drive technology, and ensures the run-up in one weft insertion for the loom and if necessary also for the shedding machine. The control arrangement controlling the electric motor drive of the loom and shedding machine includes a computer arrangement which, depending on machine and/or weaving technical data, determines the applicable size of the moment of inertia of a non-inherent inertial mass with which at least the shedding machine is to be equipped, and the at least one non-inherent inertial mass is arranged in such a manner, so that the determined size of the moment of inertia becomes effective in the operation of the shedding machine.

  • Patent number: 6962171
Abstract: A drive arrangement is constructed for permitting the separate operation of a weaving machine and a shed forming machine. The drive arrangement compensates any r.p.m. variations of the weaving machine drive and of the shed forming machine relative to the drive shaft of the respective machine. This drive arrangement permits keeping the energy drawn from the electrical supply network during the start phase and the drive power to be provided for a normal operation of the weaving machine and of the shed forming machine optimally low.

  • Patent number: 6953063
Abstract: A method of operating a weaving machine and a shedding machine aims, to achieve so-called soft starts and soft stops, in particular, of the shedding machine. The weaving machine is equipped with an electromotive main drive and the shedding machine is equipped with an electromotive auxiliary drive. In the method the shedding machine is started at a time point (t1) that lies before the starting time point of the weaving machine, and, upon a triggered interruption of the weaving process, a shedding machine comes to the standstill at a time point (t5) that lies after the standstill time point (t4) of the weaving machine.

  • Publication number: 20050178457
Abstract: The invention is directed to a high energy constancy in the operation of a loom and shedding machine with separated drive technology, and to ensure the run-up in one weft insertion for the loom and if necessary also for the shedding machine. For this purpose it is provided, that the control arrangement controlling the electric motor drive of the loom and shedding machine possesses suitable computer means, which, depending on machine and/or weaving technical data, determines the applicable size of the moment of inertia of a non-inherent inertial mass with which at least the shedding machine is to be equipped, and that suitable means are present, which make it possible to arrange the at least one non-inherent inertial mass in such a manner, so that the size of the determined moment of inertia becomes effective in the operating of the shedding machine.

  • Patent number: 6913044
Abstract: A direct drive for a loom reed includes a linear motor carrying out a linear oscillating motion, or an arc segment motor carrying out a pivoting oscillating motion, or a circular coaxial motor carrying out a pivoting oscillating motion. The circular coaxial motor has a hollow shaft rotor arranged within a hollow shaft stator, and may further have an additional hollow shaft stator arranged within the rotor in a sandwich motor construction. The arc segment motor and the linear motor may similarly have a rotor member sandwiched between two stator members. Two motor units can be provided respectively above and below the weaving plane to drive the reed together. With these measures, the driving force is increased, yet the drive arrangement is confined to the available installation space.

  • Patent number: 6787957
Abstract: A godet roll for guiding, heating and conveying yarn on the circumference of a hollow-cylindrical godet roll casing. The godet roll casing is seated on a projecting support by at least one magnetic bearing having bearing pole windings, and a heating device with heating pole windings is arranged on the support. Some bearing pole windings and at least one heating pole winding are arranged together in one bearing plane, so that the bearing areas can be heated. Sensors provided for detecting the position of the godet roll casing are arranged outside of an annular chamber formed between the godet roll casing and the support in order to prevent a thermal overload of the sensors.

  • Publication number: 20040031533
Abstract: The object of the invention is to optimize the electromotive driving and braking moments or torques required in the starting and braking phase of the weaving and shedding machine while reducing the mechanical loading or stressing of machine elements of the shedding and weaving machine and while preventing starting marks in the woven fabric, and on the basis thereof, to achieve so-called soft starts and soft stops, in particular, of the shedding machine. The object is achieved according to the invention in that, in a weaving machine equipped with an electromotive main drive and in a shedding machine equipped with an electromotive auxiliary drive, the shedding machine is started at a time point (t1) that lies before the starting time point of the weaving machine, and in that, upon a triggered interruption of the weaving process, the shedding machine comes to the standstill at a time point (t5) that lies after the standstill time point (t4) of the weaving machine.

  • Publication number: 20020193904
Abstract: In a test weaving run on a test loom, a first set of article-specific adjustment data is determined for the optimal adjustment of loom components for weaving a particular woven article. First and second sets of machine-specific data characterizing various machine parameters of the test loom and of a different production loom, respectively, are provided to a computer, which compares these two sets of machine-specific data. Based on the differences therebetween, the computer modifies the first set of article-specific adjustment data determined on the test loom, to prepare a modified second set of article-specific adjustment data suitable for optimally adjusting the production loom for weaving the particular article. From that data, control commands are prepared and provided to actuators of the production loom for automatically adjusting the components thereof to the optimal positions for weaving the article.
