  • Patent number: 10190656
Abstract: Balancing weights for a rim of a vehicle wheel are made from a balancing weight material, which comprises a hot melt adhesive based on Polyolefins or Ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymers filled with a volume ratio between 35% and 75% of a high-density mass material like steel particles. This balancing weight material is heated such that it becomes a ductile and adhesive material, which can adhere to the rim and applied to the rim. After cooling off a solid and fixedly attached balancing weight has been made.

  • Patent number: 9815326
Abstract: A method for balancing a wheel comprises at least the steps of extruding a profile of an uncured and/or non-vulcanized viscoelastic polymer comprising at least one filler having a total density of more than 0.9 kg/dm3, cutting a section from an extruded profile of said polymer, wherein the length of the section correlates with the required mass for balancing, applying the balancing weight to the rim of the wheel, and curing of the balancing weight at the wheel.

  • Patent number: 9205966
Abstract: A device for storing balancing weights and for supplying said weights to a balancing system, includes at least one carrier belt which is flexible at least in a main plane for accommodating balancing weights which are arranged consecutively in the longitudinal direction of said belt. The carrier belt includes a hinge arrangement between two belt sections provided for accommodating a balancing weight, said hinge arrangement being pivotable in the main plane in both directions and permitting a folding back onto itself. As a result, the carrier belt can be stored in zigzag layers in an approximately cuboid container, thus enabling storage, transport and compact configuration of the device in accordance with the invention.

  • Publication number: 20150323410
Abstract: A device for the application of balancing weights to the rim of a vehicle wheel comprises a program controlled manipulator device with a balancing weight application head. The application head is configured to first pick up a balancing weight from a dispenser and then to be transported by the manipulator device to the rim, where the application head can apply the balancing weight to the rim.
