  • Patent number: 5506988
Abstract: A program-controlled communication installation is composed of at least a digital computer system having a computer core (processor) administered by a multi-tasking operating system and having a system memory wherein a plurality of program modules are stored. Each of the program modules serves the purpose of realizing a defined function of the communication installation. A function can only be executed in that the appertaining program module is handled by the computer core. Since a plurality of functions usually pend for execution, the executable program modules are noted in a process list from which the operating system respectively selects the program module having the highest priority and allocates it to the computer core for execution.

  • Patent number: 5295264
Abstract: A modularly-structured integrated services digital network (ISDN) communication system comprises a system processor that should be available for a real-time operating system and for a timesharing operating system. In order to enable continuous transitions of the system processor from one operating system into the other operating system, the task having the lowest priority (idle task) and a program subsystem having comparatively high priority in the real-time operating system (multitasking operating system) are fashioned as branch subsystems in which an assignment change from the addressing tables of the real-time operating system onto that of the timesharing operating system occur. The program subsystem with comparatively high priority which is fashioned as a branch subsystem assures that a certain minimum portion of the calculating capacity of the system processor is assigned to the timesharing operating system independently of the traffic load of the real-time operating system.

  • Patent number: 4538022
Abstract: In order to improve the mechanical strength of power and control cables which are subjected to high mechanical stresses in operation, the conductors are elastically fixed to a structural element of the cable. To this end, the conductor insulation is joined in a material-bonded manner to the structural element which consists of a soft elastomer. The conductors are provided, for instance, with a thin cover layer of polyethylene which can be cross-linked peroxidically and is cross-linked after the inner jacket is applied, and in the process makes a material-bonded connection to the inner jacket which consists of a vulcanizable mixture of ethylene-propylene rubber and natural rubber.

  • Patent number: 4103355
Abstract: A mixing extruder with an extruder worm for processing rubber and synthetic materials, which has three regions following each other in its feeding direction. The first one of these regions represents a mixing chamber which can be closed at intervals at all sides. The second region is formed by a storage zone for securing a smooth change-over from discontinuously feeding the extruder to continuously feeding the extruder, and the third region is designed as an ejection zone for feeding material in the extruder to the discharge opening thereof.

  • Patent number: 4024168
Abstract: Fruits, such as nuts and the like, are loaded at an inlet end into an elongated housing having a passage provided with a rotatable screw. At the end adjacent the inlet the screw serves to crush and thoroughly comminute the fruit so that the oil therefrom can be drawn off through strainers. The screw is formed with a thread having gaps which receive flow-interruptors which project inwardly from the housing and which insure complete mixing of the crushed fruit. In addition the screw is formed with a ridge defining a narrow gap with the inner wall of the housing so that no large particles can be left in the finished product. The screw also has a region of lesser diameter where the crushed fruit is degassed by withdrawal of air and vapor through the wall of the housing. The housing and the screw are heated so that as the fruit is being crushed and the oil extracted this fruit is roasted. At the downstream end the paste-like pulp of the fruit is extruded.
