Patent number: 8376146Abstract: The device according to the invention serves for classifying or concentrating liquids laden with fibers or solids by means of screening or filtration. For this purpose, a cylindrical fine screen is arranged in a vertical position in a housing comprising an axially cylindrical vibrator being somewhat smaller than the fine screen so as to produce an annular gap between the screen and the vibrator. In the vibrator, there is a vibration motor with imbalances, which generates circular horizontal oscillations. The liquid to be treated is introduced into the annular gap, primarily from above, and the concentrated liquid is removed at the bottom. The cleaned liquid is discharged between the screen and the wall of the housing. The feature of the invention is that the vibrator is mounted on at least three rubber elements which primarily allow the vibrator to perform a circular horizontal movement.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 2008Date of Patent: February 19, 2013Assignee: Röhren-und Pumpenwerk BAUER Gesellschaft m.b.H.Inventor: Dietrich Eichler

Patent number: 7980002Abstract: The invention relates to a rotary drum in which the hygienic status of pourable solids separated from liquid cattle manure is modified by aerobic heating in such a manner that said solids can be reused as bedding in cattle sheds. The object of the invention is to obtain a high loading factor amounting to 60-70% filling of the drum which is located horizontally for installation in an insulated container. In accordance with the invention, the loaded solid is kept in a chamber and is only transferred to the drum when there is no solid surrounding the chamber. The crucial element is a flap of the chamber which only opens and closes in this area. If there is any solid resting on the outside of the flap then opening of the flap is prevented.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 2010Date of Patent: July 19, 2011Assignee: Röhren-und Pumpenwerk Bauer Gesellschaft mbHInventor: Dietrich Eichler

Publication number: 20070294910Abstract: The invention concerns a rotary drum (1), in which the hygienic status of separated, pourable cow manure solids (3) is modified by aerobic heating such that the solids can be re-used as bedding in cowsheds. The aim of the invention is that of achieving a high charge level of the drum (1), which lies horizontally for incorporation in an insulated container (2), with a filling level of 60-70% being achieved. According to the invention, the loaded solid (3) is kept in a chamber (4,8) and is passed to the drum (1) only when there is no solid surrounding the chamber (4,8). An important element is a flap (4,9) of the chamber (4,8), which opens and closes in this area only. If there is solid material on the outside of the flap, then the flap is prevented from opening (4,9).Type: ApplicationFiled: November 8, 2005Publication date: December 27, 2007Inventor: Dietrich Eichler

Patent number: 6036871Abstract: The invention relates to a process and apparatus for the separation of heavier from lighter fractions in aqueous slurries by means of centrifugal force. A slurry is made to spin in a separation chamber under influence of differential pressure. The differential pressure, which can amount to several bars, is generated by means of a pressure increasing stage in the form of a transport rotor device (20) which acts in conjunction with a stator arrangement (22). This pressure boosting stage takes place immediately upstream of an inlet of the slurry into the separation chamber (4). Rotor blades of a cyclone rotor device (10) and rotor blades of the transport rotor device (20) can be mounted on the same rotary shaft (5). The separation of floatable fractions in aqueous slurries can be enhanced by presence of micro gas bubbles introduced into the separation chamber (4).Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 1998Date of Patent: March 14, 2000Assignee: Fan Separator GmbHInventor: Dietrich Eichler

Patent number: 5009795Abstract: Solids contained in waste water are separated and dewatered by a separator comprising a cylindrical strainer basket and a rotary screw disposed in said basket. The screw terminates short of an outlet end of the basket. Waste water introduced into the separator is advanced by the screw until a solids slug is formed between a discharge end of the screw and a solids discharge formed by a cylindrical tube extending forwardly from the basket. About seventy to ninety-five percent of the slug is contained in the basket and is pressed laterally against a wall of the basket to promote the removal of water. The terminal portion of the screw tapers in order to maximize the compaction of the solids slug.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 1989Date of Patent: April 23, 1991Assignee: Fan Engineering GmbHInventor: Dietrich Eichler
