  • Publication number: 20050255556
Abstract: A method of ion channels folded into their active structure, or functional subunits thereof, is described. For this purpose, initially expressed subunits, which are solubilized and denatured in a first detergent, of an ion channel are provided, and subsequently the first detergent is replaced by a second detergent which induces folding of the subunits of an ion channel into their native structure. The subunits of the ion channel are then assembled into its active structure.
