  • Patent number: 6663291
Abstract: The invention relates to a connector assembly, especially for connecting optical fibers, having a coupling member, a connector housing insertable into the coupling member and a connection slide mounted in the coupling member so as to be actuatable generally perpendicular to the insertion direction of the connector housing. At least one of the components, either the coupling member, connector housing or connection slide includes a resiliently deformable area which is deformable between connection and snap-in positions.

  • Patent number: 6312272
Abstract: An electrical connector comprising an actuating lever for mating the electrical connector with a complementary connector, the actuating lever including a deflectable lever leg with a pivot hole therethrough; and a connector housing having a wall with a pivot pin extending therefrom and being receivable within the hole of the lever leg to establish a pivot for the actuating lever; characterised in that: guide members and cams aligned with the pivot pin are included as part of the connector housing; and guide surfaces and camming surface on the actuating lever that are complementary to the respective guide members and cams of the connector housing such that the hole is aligned with the pin and an end of the leg is deflected over the pin, the lever further including a relief feature so that the lever can be operated once the pivot pin is received in the hole.

  • Patent number: 6129567
Abstract: A connector assembly having a first electrical connector with an actuating slide and a second, complementary connector, where the actuating slide is integrated into the first connector and co-operates with the second connector in order to plug the connector pair together, at least one pin being moved through a guide groove during the actuation of the actuating slide in order to connect the connectors, and the pin being moved in the opposite direction through the guide groove during the actuation of the actuating slide in order to separate the connectors, the actuating slide and the first electrical connector having complementary guide means which guide the actuating slide essentially on a circular track during the actuation.

  • Patent number: 5772478
Abstract: An electrical connector housing (2) for housing an electrical terminal within a body (4). The body (4) having a channel (14) wherein the terminal is received and a latch (66) movable between an unlocked position outside of said channel (N) and a locked position blocking at least a portion of said channel (14) so that the terminal is prevented from being dislodged. The electrical connector housing being characterized in that the latch (66) is actuated by a locking member (8) that is rotatable between the locked and unlocked positions upon said housing body (4).
