  • Publication number: 20070076693
Abstract: An arrangement is provided for scheduling VBR multimedia traffic over a multi-hop transmission path in a wireless network so that delivery of the multimedia data over each link may share the available bandwidth of a common channel. A high bit rate and a low bit rate may be used for all of the transmitting nodes (including the source node or all of the intermediary nodes). Transmission bit rate across all of the transmitting nodes may be scheduled using the high and low bit rates in a pipelined manner, under which a high bit rate is used by each link in a round-robin manner. A bit rate over a link may be adjusted according to real-time link conditions of the link at any time.
