  • Patent number: 5315816
Abstract: A method for cooling and eliminating temperature variations in a power plant for combustion of a fuel in a pressurized fluidized bed includes pressuring air in a compressor and supplying the pressurized air to the pressurized fluidized bed through air paths after the pressurized air is cooled and temperature variations in the pressurized air are substantially eliminated prior to supplying the pressurized air into the pressurized fluidized bed in at least one transfer surface provided in the air paths.

  • Patent number: 4424668
Abstract: In order to operate a gas turbine and steam turbine plant with a high temperature at the inlet to the gas turbine plant, the parts located in the hot-gas stream of the gas turbine being steam-cooled, and the cooling steam, thereby raised to a higher temperature, being fed to the steam turbine for further expansion, it is proposed that the waste heat from the gas turbine (3) be led through a two-pressure waste heat boiler (7), and that the steam, generated in this boiler, be slightly superheated in a cooling-steam superheater (10), and fed to the hollow inlet vanes (43) and to the rotor blades (42), which are likewise hollow, the steam, strongly superheated during this cooling process, then being admixed to the steam coming from the intermediate superheater (13), and being fed to the low-pressure section of the steam turbine (27).

  • Patent number: 4359310
Abstract: To improve wall cooling, especially at gas turbine elements, such as buckets or blading, combustion chambers, infeed channels and so forth, it is proposed to arrange a partition wall between an outer plate and an inner plate, for instance formed of sheet metal. The partition wall forms a cooling agent chamber and a pressure equalization chamber. The partition wall preferably consists of a buckle plate whose bulges or protuberances are connected, as by welding, with the outer plate. There is maintained within the pressure equalization chamber a pressure which approximately corresponds to the hot gas pressure at the outer surface of the outer plate, so that there are avoided so-called boiler stresses.

  • Patent number: 3989412
Abstract: The body of the blade is formed by a shell which is cast with the root to define an internal cavity and a chamber in the blade tip. A plurality of ducts extend from a chamber in the root through the shell and along the periphery of the shell to the chamber in the blade tip. Passages within the shell communicate the internal cavity with outlets in the trailing edge. These passages are sized to dam up the cooling air in the cavity.

  • Patent number: H5
Abstract: The pressure-fired fluidized-bed boiler installation with a gas turbine set driven by the flue gases has, in the main air duct (8), a preheating burner (10) which heats the still cold fluidized-bed boiler (1) and a part of the flue gas duct (12) to a temperature above the dew point. Air branched off from the main air duct (8) is heated in a heat exchanger (20) and used for heating up the turbine (5) driven by the motor (6) and the remaining parts of the installation, through which flue gas flows.
