    Abstract: A powered hammer includes a housing having a proximal end and a distal end. The distal end includes an opening for a tool to pass through. The powered hammer further includes a shroud member coupled to the housing and configured to surround an outer surface of the distal end of the housing. The shroud member includes an opening on a lower surface thereof. The opening is configured to allow the tool to pass through. The shroud member is made from a ceramic material with a layer of fiber glass disposed adjacent to the outer surface of the distal end of the housing. The shroud member is configured to reduce heat transfer to the housing from an ambient environment proximate the distal end of the housing.
