  • Publication number: 20130123854
Abstract: Embodiments of present invention disclose spinal screws having first and second heads for a versatile screw-rod construct to achieve spinal stabilization for patients with unstable spines. The first and second heads are used to connect first and second rods at the same bone anchor location. The first and second heads can accept rods of different diameter, materials and/or stiffness in order to accommodate the anatomical needs of the spine of a patient. Further, the first and second heads can positioned side by side to accommodate parallel rods or perpendicular to each other to accommodate rods with cross link rods. Further, the position of the first and second heads can be adjusted relative to each other.
