  • Patent number: 5820534
Abstract: A body exercise device that attaches to an exerciser and includes right and left members, right and left shoulder engaging apparatus, right and left knee engaging apparatus, right and left foot engaging apparatus, and right and left sole assemblies. The right and left members are elastic, elongated, slender, and formed as closed loops, and vertically encircle the right and left sides of the exerciser. The right and left shoulder engaging apparatus selectively maintains the right and left members against the right and left shoulders of the exerciser. The right and left waist engaging apparatus are capable of maintaining the right and left member against the exerciser's waist on both his front and back sides. The right and left knee engaging apparatus selectively maintain the right and left members against the right and left knees of the exerciser.

  • Patent number: 5024256
Abstract: A vial containing liquid contents constructed so as to permit transfer of its contents to a syringe without the use of a needle with the syringe. One embodiment employs rotation of a cap to align openings avoiding the use of a needle. In another embodiment, there is provided mounted within apparatus located on the mouth of the vial a needle which is built in to the apparatus. The syringe engages the needle which is then depressed to puncture the cork sealing the vial, the vial is then inverted, and the contents drained into the syringe. The needle is withdrawn thereby resealing the contents of the vial, and the needle remains with the vial.

  • Patent number: 4994042
Abstract: A combined needle and catheter assembly comprising a body in which is provided a plunger having the needle at one end with the catheter enclosing said needle with the tip exposed. A pusher is provided to move the plunger to the proximate end of the body to expose the needle with catheter and to lock the plunger in place against a spring which biases the plunger toward the distal position in the body. After use of the needle with the catheter moved into place, a release is employed to permit the plunger with needle to be driven back into the body, permitting the catheter to be separated from the body and ready for use.

  • Patent number: 4988339
Abstract: Retractable needle/syringe devices for blood collection, catheterization, and medicinal injection procedures adapted to fixedly project the needle from a device housing to perform the procedure, and, after the procedure is completed, retract the needle back into the housing for disposal, substantially without risk of persons handling these devices coming into contaminating contact with a used needle or syringe. One embodiment of the device including a needle/syringe assembly spring biased in a first position within a housing. A push button locking mechanism disposed through the top of the housing in abutting alignment with the syringe barrel is operated to forwardly translate the syringe to a second position and lock it in place so as to fixedly project the needle from the housing.

  • Patent number: 4946446
Abstract: Safety hypodermic needle apparatus for disposing of a needle safely after use. The apparatus comprises a housing containing a plunger on which is mounted a needle at one end and an adapter at the other end for engaging a syringe. When the syringe is engaged and is used to push the plunger, the needle is positioned to extend from the housing ready for use. When the syringe is pushed once again after use, this causes the needle to be retracted. In another embodiment, an adapter is employed to permit the use of an evacuated tube for the collection of blood.
