Abstract: A wind direction and speed measuring apparatus includes a cover portion, a swing pin attached to the cover portion, a base disposed below the swing pin, a wind resistance ball attached to the swing pin and suspended above the base, and a magnet disposed at the bottom of the wind resistance ball. A magnetic sensor on the base detects a current magnetic flux of the magnet. A controller obtains the current magnetic flux of the magnet and determines a current wind speed and current wind direction based on a difference between the current magnetic flux of the magnet and an initial magnetic flux of the magnet in a windless state. The apparatus is simple and low-cost, and can accurately measure wind direction and wind speed.
