    Abstract: Methods for the prevention of neoplasms by treatment with cardiac glycosides are described. Individuals at a high risk of developing neoplasia or cancer may be treated with a therapeutically effective dose of a cardiac glycoside prophylactically. Individuals who convert cardiac glycosides to inactive metabolites may be treated with a modified regimen which prevents inactivation of the drug.
