    Abstract: A positioner system is provided with one or more slip clutch assemblies. A slip clutch may include a torque adjustment mechanism for adjusting a slip torque parameter. A sensor system may be included to re-establish reference positions due to clutch slippage, or monitor absolute and/or incremental position of the head. An energy commutator system may be provided to pass energy through the slip clutch assembly.
