  • Patent number: 9914401
Abstract: The invention relates to a load carrier for motor vehicles, in particular in the form of a roof rack, consisting of at least two carrier bridges arranged offset at a distance from one another in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. The carrier bridges in each case comprise a crossbar as well as fastening feet which are able to be mounted on both sides of the vehicle. The angle brackets serve as lateral load stops on the crossbars. The angle brackets are able to be pivoted back and forth between an active, open position and an inactive, closed position in which they do not produce air turbulence and thus effect additional travel noise.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: March 13, 2018
    Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLC
Inventors: Lothar Baldsiefen, Dino Valter, Rene A. Huth
  • Patent number: 9884579
Abstract: A sliding block for a loading rail includes a central part defining a coupling structure along an upper face thereof. The sliding block further includes at least one side part defining an undercut having an inner face directed toward the central part and angled away from the central part in a direction along a central axis of the central part away from the upper face.

  • Patent number: 9365150
Abstract: A loading rail has a cross-sectional profile which is uniform over at least part of the length of said loading rail, has, on an upper side, a longitudinal groove for receiving at least one sliding block, the longitudinal groove being constricted in an upper region by at least one web, which is attached to a side wall of the longitudinal groove, to form a longitudinal slot, and the web bearing at least one downwardly projecting projection, wherein the projection forms an undercut on a side facing away from the longitudinal slot, as seen from below. The disclosure also relates to a sliding block for a loading rail.
