  • Patent number: 12683220
Abstract: An energy storage device for a motor vehicle includes a battery module and at least one thermally insulating filling element, which is preferably designed as a thermally insulating cell separator element arranged between two battery cells of the battery module. The filling element is designed to be soluble here, so that it dissolves at least in part when it comes into contact with a specific minimum amount of a specific liquid.

  • Publication number: 20260145202
Abstract: A method for coating a coating area of a body component of a body using a coating component. The coating component is deliberately released from a bag attached to the body component, which bag is opened automatically within a desired opening area when a predetermined opening criterion is present.

  • Publication number: 20260138152
Abstract: A method for waxing a car body with a wax, where a wax pad is attached to the car body. The wax pad is opened mechanically or thermally at a defined process point in order to release the wax and apply it to the car body. Existing thermal energy of the body and/or the wax pad from one of the preceding manufacturing steps, such as coating and/or drying, is used to liquefy the wax without the need to supply additional thermal energy in order to liquefy the wax. An optimization of a wax flow then takes place by tilting, rotating, and/or vibrating the car body in order to ensure even distribution of the wax in cavities of the car body.

  • Patent number: 12583337
Abstract: An energy storage device for a motor vehicle with a protective device for protecting at least one battery cell of the energy storage device. The energy storage device includes at least one component made of a plastic material. The component is part of the protective device and the plastic material comprises a superabsorbent material, so that the at least one component is designed to absorb liquid. The component is also assigned an additional function that differs from the absorption of liquid.

  • Publication number: 20240149738
Abstract: A method for operating a motor vehicle configured as an electric or hybrid vehicle during its charging process, including: generating a charging signal by the motor vehicle, such that the charging signal indicates an imminent charging of the motor vehicle taking place at a charging station; detecting the charging signal by a control device; detecting at least one presence information item once the charging signal has been detected by way of at least one sensor of the motor vehicle, such that the presence information item relates to the presence or absence of at least one stranger located in a vicinity of the motor vehicle; checking for the fulfillment of an action condition by way of the control device, such that the action condition is fulfilled if the presence information item verifies that a stranger is present; generating and outputting at least one control signal by the control device.

  • Publication number: 20230382271
Abstract: A motor vehicle with an energy storage, a coolant connection device for coupling to an external coolant source, and a cooling device. At least in one first operating condition a coolant can be supplied, via the coolant connection device, to the motor vehicle for thermally regulating the energy storage by the cooling device during a charging process for electrically charging the energy storage, and at least in a second operating condition an interior of the energy storage can be flooded. The motor vehicle has a first cooling circuit part and a second cooling circuit part which is fluidically separated from the first and is coupled via a heat exchanger at least in the first operating condition.

  • Publication number: 20230181950
Abstract: A battery arrangement for a motor vehicle for fighting a battery fire. The battery arrangement includes a battery having at least one battery cell, which is arranged in a battery housing. A charging device is designed to provide electrical energy to the at least one battery cell when connected to a motor vehicle-external energy supply system. Furthermore, a detection device is formed for detecting a predetermined heating state of the battery, which indicates that a battery fire is present or at least imminent. The charging device also includes an extinguishing agent supply unit for fighting fires. The extinguishing agent supply unit is designed, when connected to a motor vehicle-external extinguishing agent reservoir and when the predetermined heating state is present, to provide a predetermined extinguishing agent for supply into the battery housing.

  • Publication number: 20230089640
Abstract: A method of discharging battery modules of a battery in case of a fault state of at least one of the battery modules, a respective battery module of the plurality of battery modules having at least one battery cell includes, under at least one first condition that at least one first battery cell of a first battery module of the plurality of battery modules has at least one critical state, respective second battery modules, from among the battery modules which are different from the first battery module are at least partly discharged in accordance with an order at least under a second condition. The order depending on a spatial distance between the respective second battery modules different from the first battery module and the first battery module and/or depending on a thermal resistance between the respective battery modules different from the first battery module and the first battery module.
