  • Publication number: 20190367770
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for producing rigid polyurethane (PUR) and polyurethane/polyisocyanurate (PUR/PIR) foams, comprising the steps of i) producing a reaction mixture containing the components A) an isocyanate-reactive component, B) a polyisocyanate component, and C) a blowing agent, and ii) applying the reaction mixture by using a system comprising at least one casting device. The casting device (100) having: a supply port (12) for feeding the reaction mixture (10), at least one discharge gap (13) extending in a transverse direction (Q) for the discharge of the reaction mixture (10), two gap-forming plates (14) arranged opposite one another, a gap space (15) extending between the gap-forming plates (14) above the discharge gap (13) in a height direction (H), wherein the reaction mixture can be introduced into the gap space (15), distributed over the length of the supply duct (16).

  • Publication number: 20180222093
Abstract: The invention relates to a casting device for applying a foaming reaction mixture, to at least a partial width of a cover layer, wherein the casting device comprises: a supply connection for feeding in the reaction mixture; at least one exit slit extending in a transverse direction for the exiting of the reaction mixture; two slit plates arranged opposite one another, wherein a slit space extends between the slit plates in a vertical direction above the exit slit. A supply channel connected to the supply connection is formed between the slit plates, which closes off the slit space above the exit slit in the vertical direction The supply channel has a channel cross-section, the main dimension of which is larger that the width of the slit space. The reaction mixture can be introduced into the slit space to distribute the reaction mixture over the length of the supply channel.

  • Publication number: 20070087078
Abstract: A molding tool for the production of plastics moldings by the reaction injection molding process is described. These plastics moldings are preferably prepared from a reaction mixture comprising a polyurethane molding composition. The molding tool comprises at least two molding tool halves, i.e. an upper mold half and a lower mold half, which together form a mold cavity when in the closed position, a supply pipe for transporting the reaction mixture via an external mixing head connector which connects the supply pipe to an external mixing head, a storage chamber which receives the reaction mixture from the supply pipe, and a plunger which is movably arranged in the storage chamber, characterised in that the end face of the plunger forms part of the inside wall of the mold cavity formed by the two mold halves when the plunger is in the extended state.

  • Patent number: 5601881
Abstract: The coating of bodies rotating about an axis with a reaction mixture forming a polyurethane can be improved by making use of a sheet die disposed parallel to the axis of rotation of the body at an angle .alpha., whereby the rate of reaction of the reaction mixture and the relative movement are synchronized with the circumferential speed of the rotating body in such a way that the successive convolutions overlap in the form of scales and connect together seamlessly.
