  • Patent number: 11291525
Abstract: A mandibular protrusion splint includes a maxillary splint part and a mandibular splint part, each of which have a laterally attached joint pin, and joint rods which couple the splint parts together in a movable manner. Each joint pin comprises a shoulder facing the splint part, a head facing away from the splint part, and a neck arranged between the shoulder and the head. The shoulder and head cross sections are larger than a neck cross section. Each joint pin holds a joint rod. The joint rods have a collar at each end. Each collar surrounds the neck in a mounted state. The collar(s) and/or the head(s) have a flexibility which, upon an excessive application of a laterally directed force exerted via a joint rod, allows a yielding movement of the joint rod and then allows the collar to slip over the head of the joint pin without being destroyed.

  • Publication number: 20190332734
Abstract: A method for producing a computer-aided virtual articulator for dentistry includes recording and collating body-related data from a plurality of persons to provide a data collection, generating a model of a masticatory apparatus from the data collection via statistical methods, and using the model to supplement body-related data recorded from a single patient to provide a simulated individual movement model of the masticatory apparatus of the single patient and to simulate a movement of the masticatory apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20110033819
Abstract: Process for manufacturing a treatment template, in particular a drilling template 7, which is used for pinpoint guidance of an instrument in the oral cavity of a patient, whereby the treatment template is secured in a detachable manner during an operative intervention in the jaw area of the patient in defined position, whereby in the jaw area, a holder is anchored especially by implantation for detachable fastening of the treatment template 7, whereby the holder has marker structures 1a that put up a three-dimensional coordinate system and that can be shown by an imaging process together with the anatomy of the patient, whereby a set of three-dimensional image data of the jaw area 2 that is equipped with a holder is recorded, in that based on the image data, the planning of the implants and the planning of the treatment template 7 that is to be secured in a defined manner to the holder is done, whereby the plans relate to the coordinate system that is put up by the marker structures 1a.

  • Publication number: 20090191509
Abstract: Process for planning an operational intervention on a body part, in particular on the jaw, of a patient, whereby within the framework of a recording, a common reference system is defined between a set of patient data that are registering with a recording device and that show the body part in its three-dimensionality, and a model of the body part, whereby the patient is held in place, during the registering of the patient data, with the body part in a securing device (3), which is brought into a defined position relative to the registering device, whereby after registering the patient data, the model (7) is positioned by means of a holding device (8) in a corresponding location in the securing device (3), whereby the holding device (8) is in a defined position relative to the securing device (3), whereby the model (7) in this defined position is secured to the holding device (8) and whereby additional planning steps are undertaken on the model (7) that is secured on the holding device (8).

  • Publication number: 20080310584
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for generating 3D tomographic images of an object (4), according to which a radiation source (1), in particular an X-ray source is displaced in relation to the object (4). The radiation source (1) emits a conical beam of radiation (2) that strikes the object (4), the radiation that has passed through the object (1) and has been weakened in intensity is captured by a detector (5); which is located in, he conical beam (2) behind the object (4) in relation to the radiation source (1). The radiation source (1) and the detector (5) are combined in a source-detector assembly (7), which is rotated about a rotational axis (6) during the generation of images in the reference system that is defined by the object (4). Said rotational axis (6) is modified during the generation of the images and/or the source (1) and/or the detector (5) in the reference system that is defined by the source-detector assembly (7) is/are displaced during the generation of the images.
