  • Publication number: 20140155257
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of production of catalyst particles, comprising platinum and tin and also at least one further element, selected from lanthanum and cesium, on zirconium dioxide as support, comprising the steps: preparation of one or more solutions containing precursor compounds of Pt, Sn and at least one further element of La or Cs and also ZrO2, converting the solution(s) to an aerosol, bringing the aerosol into a directly or indirectly heated pyrolysis zone, carrying out pyrolysis, and separation of the particles formed from the pyrolysis gas. Suitable precursor compounds comprise zirconium(IV) acetylacetonate, lanthanum(II) acetylacetonate and cesium acetate, hexamethyldisiloxane, tin 2-ethylhexanoate, platinum acetylacetonate, zirconium(IV) propylate in n-propanol and lanthanum(II) acetylacetonate. The invention also relates to the catalyst particles obtainable using the method according to the invention, and to the use thereof as dehydrogenation catalysts.

  • Publication number: 20140050654
Abstract: Described is a process for the production of mixed oxide particles. The process comprises providing a mixture comprising a solvent, one or more precursor compounds of ceria, one or more precursor compounds of zirconia, and one or more precursor compounds of one or more rare earth oxides other than ceria and/or one or more precursor compounds of yttria; forming an aerosol of the mixture; and pyrolyzing the aerosol of to obtain mixed oxide particles. The content of the rare earth oxides other than ceria and/or of yttria in the mixed oxide particles is comprised in the range of from 0.1 to 4.9 wt.-% based on the total weight of the rare earth oxides, yttria, and zirconia contained in the mixed oxide particles. Also describes are mixed oxide particles obtained from flame spray pyrolysis and to their use as an oxygen storage component, a catalyst, and/or as a catalyst support.

  • Publication number: 20120119150
Abstract: A process for preparing acetylene and synthesis gas by partial oxidation of hydrocarbons with oxygen, by first separately preheating the hydrocarbon gas and oxygen gas, and then reacting the gases and cooling the products rapidly. The reactor wall is blanketed with a purge gas stream, introduced through a plurality of feed lines. These feed lines deliver purge gas in a vector direction within a 10° angle of the main flow direction of the reactive gas stream. The purge gas is delivered at multiple stages relative to the main flow direction of the reactive gas stream, and the free cross section of the firing space available to the reactive gas stream, at the height of the feed lines of the purge gas stream, is approximately constant.

  • Publication number: 20120022308
Abstract: A process is proposed for preparing acetylene by the Sachsse-Bartholomé process by combustion of a natural gas/oxygen mixture in one or more burners to obtain a cracking gas which is cooled in two or more stages in burner columns, each burner having one or more burner columns assigned thereto, and said cracking gas being quenched with pyrolysis oil in the first cooling stage, to obtain a low boiler fraction comprising benzene, toluene and xylene from the one or more burner columns, which is cooled with direct cooling water and separated in a phase separator into an aqueous phase and an organic phase which comprises benzene, toluene and xylene and is fully or partly introduced to the top of the one or more burner columns as a return stream, wherein the organic phase comprising benzene, toluene and xylene from the phase separator, prior to full or partial recycling to the top of the one or more burner columns, is supplied to a selective hydrogenation over a catalyst which comprises at least one platinum group m
