Patent number: 9291219Abstract: A bolt guiding device for a floating caliper disc brake, having at least one guide bolt that is supported in a brake carrier and mounted on a brake caliper, wherein the brake caliper is movably guided over the guide bolt in the axial direction thereof. The bolt guiding device comprises a slide bush, wherein one surface of the inner circumferential surface and outer circumferential surface acts as a retaining surface on which the slide bush is retained, and wherein the other surface of the inner circumferential surface and outer circumferential surface acts as a sliding surface on which the slide bush slides.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 2012Date of Patent: March 22, 2016Assignee: Lucas Automotive GmbHInventors: Marco Becker, Guido Zenzen, Nong Dang, Dirk Hees, Georg Brand, Dirk Debus

Patent number: 8905201Abstract: Vehicle disk brake designed as a service brake and as a parking- or immobilizing brake, having a brake anchor plate, which is to be fastened to the chassis of a motor vehicle by at least one screw bolt and in which two guide bolts are accommodated in order to guide a brake caliper displaceably relative to the brake anchor plate, and having a hydraulic chamber, in which a brake piston is accommodated in order to bring friction linings into and out of frictional engagement with a brake disk. A separately manipulable assembly is built onto the vehicle disk brake and has an electric motor as well as an electronic control and power device in order, independently of a hydraulic actuation of the brake piston, to actuate the brake piston via a rotary-to-linear motion converter in the sense of bringing the friction linings into and out of engagement with the brake disk.Type: GrantFiled: July 21, 2009Date of Patent: December 9, 2014Assignee: Lucas Automotive GmbHInventors: Frank Laubenthal, Dirk Hees, Guido Zenzen

Publication number: 20110056778Abstract: The invention relates to a brake lining arrangement for disc brakes having at least one spring journal arranged on the back of the brake lining and a spring element that may be coupled to the spring journal, wherein the spring element has a fastening section with a receiving opening for receiving the spring journal, wherein on the surface of the fastening section of the spring element remote from the brake lining a profiling is configured, which during a plastic deformation of the spring journal to fix the spring element comes into engagement therewith and fixes the spring element in a predetermined position.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 4, 2009Publication date: March 10, 2011Inventors: Klaus Roth, Dirk Hees

Patent number: 7731002Abstract: The invention relates to a disc brake having a brake carrier which is fastenable to a vehicle frame and provided with studs for guiding at least one brake lining axially with respect to a brake disc, wherein the brake lining includes U-shaped recesses for the studs into which the studs engage, and wherein during braking tensile forces and/or compressive forces are exerted upon inner surfaces of the recesses. The invention is characterized in that an inner surface of at least one of the U-shaped recesses, which surface bears against a respective stud during a brake actuation, is angled with respect to a central plane of the brake lining such that a force that arises between the said surface and the respective stud during braking presses the brake lining into a stable position with respect to the studs. The invention also relates to a brake lining for use in such a disc brake.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 2006Date of Patent: June 8, 2010Assignee: Lucas Automotive GmbHInventors: Manfred Haupt, Michael Schog, Dirk Hees

Patent number: 7431132Abstract: A disc brake comprises a brake carrier, which is fastenable to the vehicle and is provided with bolts at the leading side and at the trailing side of the brake, which during braking take up the forces acting upon the brake linings. The relative dimensions and arrangements of the bolts and of the brake lining are such that, upon introduction of a brake force that is capable of decelerating the vehicle up to a maximum value in the region of 0.1 g, only tensile forces act upon the brake lining.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 2005Date of Patent: October 7, 2008Assignee: Lucas Automotive GmbHInventors: Michael Schog, Karl-Heinz Wollenweber, Christian Schroeter, Dirk Hees, Guido Zenzen

Patent number: 7377368Abstract: A disc brake has a brake carrier (10) with at least two bolts (16a, 16b, 18a, 18b) which stand axially to the brake disc for guiding a brake lining (32a, 32b). The plane (P) spanned by the bolt axes has a smaller radial distance (D) from the disc axis (A) than the centroid of the friction lining.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 2005Date of Patent: May 27, 2008Assignee: Lucas Automotive GmbHInventors: Michael Schog, Karl-Heinz Wollenweber, Christian Schroeter, Dirk Hees, Guido Zenzen
