Abstract: The present invention relates to a color photographic recording material which contains, in at least one layer between the substrate and light-sensitive emulsion layer situated nearest to the substrate, a compound of formula (I) wherein X and Y, independently of each other in each case, represent an electron-attracting group, and X and Y together can form a group which is necessary for the completion of a 5- or 6-membered ring.

Abstract: Couplers corresponding to formula I below used in multilayer color photographic recording materials are suitable for the release of photographically active compounds. ##STR1## In formula I above, A represents the residue of a coupler which, as a consequence of a reaction with the oxidation product of a silver halide developer under the photographic development conditions, releases a radical corresponding to the following formula ##STR2## Time represents a bond which, on reaction of the coupler with the oxidation product of a silver halide developer, is released together with the triazole ring attached thereto and, in turn, releases the triazole ring with delay under the development conditions;n=0, 1 or 2;R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 represent any substituents, provided the compound of formula II ##STR3## as a whole is a photographically active compound after release.

Abstract: High edge effects and interimage effects are obtained when DIR couplers of formula I are used in color photographic silver halide materials. ##STR1## In Formula I, R.sup.1 denotes alkyl, for example C.sub.4 H.sub.9 -t, aryl, for example p-alkoxyphenyl, NH-aryl or NH--NH--R.sup.3 ;R.sup.2 denotes H, halogen, e.g. chlorine, alkoxy, alkylthio or NH--R.sup.4 ;R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 denote acyl;X denotes the residue of a photographically active compound containing a monocyclic 1,2,3- or 1,2,4-triazole ring,TIME denotes a linking member andn denotes 0 or 1.

Abstract: Remarkably high inter-image and edge effects are obtained when DIR-Couplers corresponding to Formula I are added to multilayered color photographic recording materials, in particular to green sensitive or red sensitive layers. The sharpness and color reproduction may thereby be improved. ##STR1## R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 denote alkyl or an aromatic group, R.sup.3 denotes H, alkyl or acylamino,R.sup.4 denotes H or alkylR.sup.5 denotes alkyl, alkinyl, aryl, acyloxy, carbamoyl or a cyclic imido group andn has the value 0 or 1and the total number of carbon atoms in R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 is greater than 3 but not greater than 11.

Abstract: A color photographic recording material containing a coupler which releases a photographically active compound.Couplers corresponding to formula (I) couple with color developers to form yellow to yellow-orange dyes and, in doing so, release the residue X as a photographically active compounds. Where X is a development inhibitor, remarkably high inter-image and edge effects can be obtained. ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 represents alkyl, a heterocyclic or carbocyclic aromatic group or -NH-CO-R.sup.2 ;R.sup.2 represents alkyl, aryl or -NH-R.sup.3 ;R.sup.3 represents alkyl or aryl;Q represents the groups to complete a fused, optionally substituted benzene or heterocyclic ring;X represents the residue of a photographically active compound;TIME represents a bond which, on reaction of the coupler with the oxidation product of a color developer, is released together with the residue X attached thereto and, in turn, releases the residue X as a photographically active compound under the development conditions;n=0 or 1.

Abstract: High interimage effects and edge effects can be obtained in multilayer color photographic recording materials if yellow DIR couplers of formula I are used therein, particularly if used in green sensitized or red sensitized layers. Sharpness and color reproduction are substantially improved. ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 denotes a straight chained or branched alkyl group with up to 18 carbon atoms;R.sup.2, R.sup.3 denote identical or different alkyl groups with up to 18 carbon atoms;R.sup.4 denotes H, halogen, alkyl with up to 6 carbon atoms or alkoxy with up to 6 carbon atoms;R.sup.5 denotes H or alkyl with up to 9 carbon atoms; andR.sup.6 denotes a saturated or unsaturated aliphatic group with up to 10 carbon atoms,the total number of carbon atoms in R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 being not less than 5 and not greater than 10.
