  • Patent number: 11185598
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the preparation of a diagnostic X-ray composition. The composition comprises a non-ionic X-ray contrast agent in a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. More particularly, the invention relates to a process for secondary production of X-ray compositions comprising X-ray contrast agents with a high dissolution temperature. When using the process of the invention, precipitation is avoided and degradation of the contrast agent is reduced. The process of the invention includes heat treatment of iodinated X-ray contrast agents at low pH.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: November 30, 2021
    Assignee: GE HEALTHCARE AS
Inventors: Christian Glogard, Dirk-Jan in't Veld
  • Patent number: 10004816
Abstract: The present invention relates to X-ray examinations and to the improvement of patient safety during such. More specifically the invention relates to X-ray diagnostic compositions having low concentrations of iodine and an optimized amount of electrolytes. The invention further relates to methods of X-ray examinations wherein a body is administered with an X-ray diagnostic composition comprising a low concentration of iodine and irradiated with a radiation dose.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 10, 2013
Date of Patent: June 26, 2018
    Assignee: GE HEALTHCARE AS
Inventors: Ben Newton, Mikkel Thaning, Dirk-Jan in't Veld, Karina Langseth, Paul Michael Evans
  • Patent number: 10000518
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for improving stability of non fluoridated sugar derivatives, and in particular glucose derivatives such as 1,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-2-O-trifluoromethanesulfonyl-ß-D-mannopyranose which are used as precursors for production of radiofluoridated sugar derivatives for use in in vivo imaging procedures such as positron emission tomography (PET). The method comprises storing the non fluoridated sugar derivative in an organic solvent. The resultant formulations of the non fluoridated sugar derivative and cassettes for automated synthesis apparatus comprising the same are also claimed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 18, 2005
Date of Patent: June 19, 2018
Assignees: GE HEALTHCARE LIMITED, GE HEALTHCARE AS
Inventors: Lill Torild Wickstrom, Dirk-Jan in't Veld, Nigel John Osborn, Julian Grigg, Anthony Wilson

  • Publication number: 20160279269
Abstract: The present invention provides an aqueous, excipient solution suitable for diluting a diagnostic composition comprising a contrast agent. The excipient solution comprises a sodium ion concentration of about 100-140 mM and a calcium ion concentration of about 0.8-1.2 mM. Alternatively, the molar ratio between sodium ion concentration and calcium ion concentration is between about 80 and 175. Also provided are methods of making and using the excipient solution, as well as a kit comprising the excipient solution.
