Abstract: The object of the present application is a dye carrier composition containing oxidative and/or non-oxidative dyes as well as (a) 6.1 to 25 weight percent of at least one fatty alcohol with 14 to 20 carbon atoms, (b) 1 to 20 weight percent of at least one fatty acid alkanolamide and (c) 1 to 15 weight percent of at least one fatty alcohol alkoxylate and/or fatty acid alkoxylate, the weight ratio of fatty alcohol (a) to fatty acid alkanolamide (b) being equal to 4:1 to 1:3 and at the same time the weight ratio of fatty alcohol (a) to alkoxylate (c) being equal to 5:1 to 1:2. Another object is the use of the afore-said combination of components (a) to (c) to produce a nacreous luster effect in dye carrier compositions and colorants for keratin fibers.

Abstract: Cosmetic composition for the oxidative treatment of hair or skin, prepared by mixing of at least two components, in which dehydroascorbic acid or a dehydroascorbic acid salt or a dehydroascorbic acid derivative is generated from ascorbic acid, ascorbic acid derivative and ascorbic acid salt prior to application by an enzyme that catalyzes the enzymatical oxidation of said of ascorbic acid as well as a process for carrying out the oxidative treatment of keratin, particularly for the oxidative post-treatment of reduced hair in the process of permanent deformation of hair using said composition.

The composition includes a combination of from 0.1 to 80 percent by weight of one or more organic lipophilic compounds, namely vegetable or animal fats, vegetable or animal oils, vegetable or animal waxes, paraffin hydrocarbons, higher alcohols or ethers, aliphatic and aromatic esters and/or silicone oils; from 0.01 to 20 percent by weight of at least one lipophilic inorganic or organic thickener, which is a bentonite and/or dextrin palmitate; from 0.1 to 40 percent by weight of one or more hydrophilic inorganic or organic thickeners; from 10 to 65 percent by weight of at least one inorganic persalt; from 10 to 45 percent by weight of at least one alkaline reacting salt; and auxiliary substances and cosmetic additive ingredients, as needed.

Abstract: The hairstyling agent in gel form contains a combination of at least one gel former, more than two percent by weight of at least one UV filter and at least one hair-fixing polymer. The hairstyling gel preferably is in optically clear form and can simultaneously have hair fixing action, light protective action for the skin and light protective action for the hair or dyed hair colors. Preferred UV filters have both a benzimidazole group and a sulfonic acid group.

Abstract: The colorant for dyeing keratin fibers contains oxidation dye precursors and/or direct dyes and a combination of from 2 to 12 percent by weight of at least one long-chain fatty alcohol, from 2 to 12 percent by weight of at least one alkanolamide, from 0.5 to 10 percent by weight of at least one fatty alcohol alkoxylate and from 0.5 to 10 percent by weight of at least one quatemary ammonium compound. The weight ratio of fatty alcohol to alkanolamide is from 0.5:1.5 to 1.5:0.5. A method of making the colorant is described.

Abstract: The oxidative hair treatment composition is made by mixing several components immediately prior to application on the hair. One component contains dehydroascorbic acid, its derivatives or salts or their mixture, is anhydrous or contains up to 10% by weight of water, and is a powder, granulate or tablet or micro-encapsulated or a suspension and another component is an aqueous, alcoholic or aqueous alcoholic preparation. In order to avoid an unpleasant mercaptan odor and provide a uniform treatment the method for permanently waving hair includes putting the hair into the desired form, treating it with a keratin-reducing agent, and then rinsing it, after which it is treated oxidatively with the above-described oxidative treatment composition and rinsed once again.

Abstract: The powdery bleaching composition has improved storage stability and contains from 25 to 70 percent by weight of at least one solid per-compound as effective bleaching agent and from about 0.1 to about 20 percent by weight of at least one cross-linked silicone elastomer. The at least one cross-linked silicone elastomer is made by cross-linking with an alpha, omega-diene or a vinyl-polysiloxane and preferably is a dimethicone/vinyl-dimethicone crosspolymer or a cyclopentasiloxane and dimethicone crosspolymer. Simple methods of making the powdery cosmetic compositions are also described.

Abstract: The powdery cosmetic composition has improved storage stability and contains at least one cosmetic active ingredient in an amount suitable for its purpose and from about 0.1 to about 20 percent by weight of at least one silicone elastomer. The powdery composition can be a bleaching composition or a dye composition for bleaching or dyeing hair, which contains conventional hair bleaching or dyeing compounds. The at least one silicone elastomer is preferably a dimethicone/vinyldimethicone cross polymer or a cyclopentasiloxane and dimethicone cross polymer.

Abstract: A new oxidizing agent composition for mixing with oxidation dye pre-cursor compounds, such as developer and coupler substances, to form a ready-to-use dye mixture for dyeing keratin fibers is described. The oxidizing agent composition contains from 0.01 to 25 percent by weight of at least one alkaline earth peroxide, based on the ready-to-use dye mixture, and from 0.01 to 25 percent by weight of at least one inorganic or organic acid, salt of the at least one organic or inorganic acid or mixture of the salt and/or the at least one acid, based on the ready-to-use dye mixture.
