  • Publication number: 20220259375
Abstract: The invention relates to the use of a specific type of calcium catalyst (C) for the preparation of alkoxylated glycerol esters, alkoxylated glycerol esters prepared in the presence of the catalyst and a process for the preparation of the alkoxylated glycerol esters. It was found that in the presence of the above-mentioned calcium catalyst (C) the alkoxylation reaction requires a significantly smaller amount of time. Furthermore, it has been found that the ethoxylated glycerol esters prepared in the presence of calcium catalyst (C) lead to more homogeneous products with significantly lower hydroxyl values, less decomposition and improved processability.
