  • Patent number: 11920735
Abstract: Method for thermal insulation of an evacuable container comprising an inner container, an outer container and a cavity disposed between the inner container and the outer container, wherein said method comprises a) using a vacuum pump to reduce a pressure in the cavity and after achieving a first value of the pressure interrupting the connection to the vacuum pump, b) subsequently making a connection from a reservoir container of the thermally insulating particulate material to a filling opening provided in the region of the cavity, c) setting the evacuable container into motion, wherein the thermally insulating particulate material flows into the cavity according to a) and the pressure in the cavity increases due to the air introduced with the thermally insulating particulate material, d) terminating the filling at a second value of the pressure by interrupting the connection from the cavity to the reservoir container, e) repeating step a), wherein the output of the vacuum pump with which the cavity is deaer

  • Publication number: 20070096031
Abstract: A modular radiation detector (10) with scintillators (13) and semi-conductor photodiodes (12) and integrated readout (15) can be used in positron emission tomography (PET) for functional imaging of humans and animals. Spatial resolution is improved by measuring the depth-of-interaction and modules using photodiodes and integrated readout circuits according to the invention instead of photo-multipliers give rise to lighter and less bulky tomographic instruments. The invention uses very large scale integrated (VLSI) electronic readout circuits for measuring signals from photo-diodes. The electronic readout circuits (15) are located on the module and allow data to be measured and processed at very high rates on the module level rather than on the system level. The use of photodiodes promises greater stability during operation and improved reliability over photo-multipliers. The invention can be used in magnetic fields and therefore allows PET and MRI/NMR imaging techniques to be combined.

  • Publication number: 20070050233
Abstract: A computer system and method for synchronizing sales order confirmations and material flow determinations in a supply chain management (SCM) environment. For example, a method according to one embodiment of the invention comprises: receiving an indication of a new sales order having associated therewith a desired quantity and a desired delivery date; determining whether the desired quantity can be promised by the desired delivery date based on current receipts; and generating a fixed pegging relationship between the new sales order and receipts identified to satisfy the sales order if the desired quantity can be promised by the desired date.

  • Patent number: 6626505
Abstract: A pre-engagement unit for a braking pressure modulator for a pressure regulating circuit includes a first pneumatic inlet, a second pneumatic inlet, a first pneumatic output terminal, and a second pneumatic output terminal. The unit includes an electrically actuated valve system having a plurality of solenoid valves and a plurality of electrical terminals connected to output terminals of an electronic control unit. An electric braking command signal transmitter delivers a driver initiated electric brake value setting to an input of the electronic control unit. Under normal conditions, a supply pressure and a redundancy pressure are delivered at the first pneumatic output terminal to be converted by an air quantity augmenting relay valve to a braking pressure. In case of failure of the electronic braking system, the redundancy pressure is delivered at the first pneumatic output terminal to be converted by the air quantity augmenting relay valve to the braking pressure.

  • Patent number: 6467854
Abstract: A pre-engagement unit for a braking pressure modulator for a pressure regulating circuit of an electronic braking system includes an electrically actuated valve system with three substantially identical 2/2-way solenoid valves. First and second terminals of the 2/2-way solenoid valves are selectively connected to the pneumatic inlets and output terminals of the pre-engagement unit, and to each other so that the first 2/2-way valve serves as an air admission valve for supply pressure, the second 2/2-way solenoid valve serves as an air admission/exhaust valve for redundancy pressure, and the third 2/2-way solenoid valve serves as an exhaust valve. Thereby, the pressure in the pressure regulating circuit can be increased, decreased, or maintained. Desirably, the first, second, and third 2/2-way solenoid valves are connected in parallel to each other.

  • Patent number: 6453936
Abstract: A valve system for the pre-engagement unit of a vehicle braking pressure modulator contains solenoid valves, which are controlled by an electronic braking system. Pneumatic pressure is fed into a brake cylinder on the vehicle wheels via a pressure regulating channel of the pre-engagement unit. The solenoid valves are configured as cartridge solenoid valves, so that assembly is simplified, and utilization of elastic tolerance compensating elements is unnecessary. A preferred embodiment includes three cylinder bodies connected end-to-end with no increase in cylinder diameter. This embodiment enables the use of identical armatures and identical magnet coils for different valve types, such as 3/2-way solenoid valves or 2/2-way solenoid valves. Also, these valves may be configured as normally open or normally closed, with identical outside dimensions. As such, three cartridge solenoid valves can be combined into a compact triple valve cartridge unit that further simplifies the assembly process.
