  • Publication number: 20060165815
Abstract: The invention relates to a biological preparation comprising orthosilicic and silicic acid, a primary (“constant/first”) osmolyt choline and a weak alkalinizing agent without free hydroxyl groups and to a method for preparing the preparation, comprising: i) hydrolysing a silicon comprising choline solution thereby forming a choline stabilized orthosilicic acid and oligomers solution; ii) alkalizing the choline orthosilicic acid and oligomers solution by adding a weak alkalizing agent without hydroxyl groups; and iii) optionally adding a divalent trace element and/or secondary osmolyte, to biological preparation obtainable and its uses.

  • Publication number: 20060099276
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the preparation of a silicic acid comprising extrudate, comprising the steps of: i) forming of stabilised silicic acid, by hydrolysing a silicon compound into orthosilicic acid and/or oligomers thereof in the presence of a stabilizing agent, which is a quatemary ammonium compound, or an amino-acid, or an amino acid source or combinations thereof; ii) mixing of the stabilised silicic acid with a carrier in an amount upto the loading capacity of the carrier for silicic acid; and iii) extruding the resulting mixture thereby forming the extrudate, to extrudates obtainable with the method, to an extrudate for use in the production of animal feed, feed supplement, human food and/or food supplement and of a pharmaceutical or cosmetic preparation, and for the treatment of infections, nails, hair, skin, teeth, collagen, connective tissue, bones, osteopenia, cell generation and degenerative (ageing) processes, and to a pharmaceutical composition comprising an extrudate.

  • Patent number: 6469070
Abstract: A topical medicament for the treatment of warts, corns and verrucae including a phenolic biocide, which is preferably a compound of formula (I), in which n is from 0 to 19, in combination with choline or a derivative or a salt thereof. A method for treatment of warts, corns and verrucae is also provided which includes the steps of applying the topical medicament to the warts, corns and verrucae.

  • Patent number: 5462063
Abstract: A universally applicable cell collecting device is provided. The device has a handle and a brush head formed of flexible bristles. The bristles can be positioned such that the cross-sectional dimensions of the brush head are substantially equal in all directions. The bristles can include central bristles surrounded completely by outer bristles that are shorter and thinner than the central bristles. The bristles also can be arranged in a pattern of concentric circles and also can be arranged so that the proximal ends are spaced from one another in a predetermined array with the distal ends contacting one another in a predetermined array. The brush head also can have an outermost row of bristles having an outwardly facing surface with a radius of curvature that matches the radius of curvature of the shape of the brush head.
