  • Publication number: 20030049674
Abstract: Libraries of unimolecular, double-stranded oligonucleotides on a solid support. These libraries are useful in pharmaceutical discovery for the screening of numerous biological samples for specific interactions between the double-stranded oligonucleotides, and peptides, proteins, drugs and RNA. In a related aspect, the present invention provides libraries of conformationally restricted probes on a solid support. The probes are restricted in their movement and flexibility using double-stranded oligonucleotides as scaffolding. The probes are also useful in various screening procedures associated with drug discovery and diagnosis. The present invention further provides methods for the preparation and screening of the above libraries.

  • Publication number: 20020127577
Abstract: The present invention relates to sensors for the detection of molecular interactions between immobilized ligands and non-immobilized interaction partners (receptors). These surfaces use novel ligand-anchor conjugates which allow highly specific interaction with suitable interaction partners. Furthermore the invention relates to methods of providing the sensing surface and in particular methods of synthesising the ligand-anchor conjugates (LAC).

  • Patent number: 6441906
Abstract: The invention relates to a set-up of measuring instruments for the parallel readout of SPR sensors. The aim of the invention is to provide a measuring arrangement for the parallel readout of a plurality of SPR sensors, wherein the readout process should be terminated within an integration period of less than 30 minutes. To this end, a wavelength-selective component (5) and an optical imaging system (L2, L3) are arranged downstream of a light source (3).

  • Patent number: 6373577
Abstract: The invention relates to a surface plasmon resonance sensor for the simultaneous measurement of a plurality of samples present in fluid form. The aim of the invention is to provide such a sensor which can be arranged into a defined array and where the surface plasmon resonance sensors can be produced using technology which is simpler and more economical than those produced according to the prior art. To this end several strip-like optical wave guides (2) are arranged on a planar support (1) at a defined distance to each other in such a way that their front faces (21, 22) are flush with opposite sides (11, 12) of the planar support (1). Each strip-like optical wave guide (2) in a section which is to be brought into contact with the fluid samples has at least one thin metal layer (3) which permits the excitation of surface plasmons.

  • Publication number: 20010026943
Abstract: The invention relates to an SPR sensor array comprising a plurality of SPR sensor surface areas (120) arranged on a substrate (10, 20) in a two-dimensional matrix located in a plane to which the SPR sensor surface areas (120) are parallel and whereby radiation capable of exciting surface plasmons in the SPR sensor surface areas (120) under specific physical conditions can be guided through the substrate (10, 20) to be reflected from the SPR sensor surface areas, as well as separating means (110) for separating each SPR sensor surface area (120) from its neighboring SPR sensor surface area (120), wherein the separating means (110) and SPR sensor surface areas (120) are provided such that at least outside of surface plasmon resonance occurring in the SPR sensor surface areas (120) the radiation (40) guided through the substrate (10, 20) is reflected in the region of the separating means to a different degree than in the region of the SPR sensor surface areas (120) to create a contrast between the separating mea

  • Publication number: 20010002984
Abstract: The invention relates to a reactor support comprising a plurality of micro sample accommodating chambers which is especially used in automated laboratory operations in the field of combinatorial chemistry. The aim of the invention is to provide such a reactor support which enables individual sample accommodating chambers to be loaded with sample particles in a simple manner, and above all which permits a simultaneous reproducible liquid filling of all sample accommodating chambers or of a part of the sample accommodating chambers, said part being selectable in a defined manner, without additional pipetting steps. To this end, recesses are provided in a plate. A shaped body is fitted into each recess. Said shaped body is provided with a recess which is open on one side and which is provided for accommodating a plurality of sample particles.
